A big part of me thinks that holding the trial was a waste of time, an even bigger part of me thinks that he should just be tossed in a casket and buried, as that to me is a justified ‘life without parole’ type sentence.

Instead he'll be granted the opportunity to celebrate his 80th birthday in prison, likely with the best psychotic drugs that are on hand, plus meals. Considering what he faces after his death, I guess I'm okay with the jury's results. Time enough for God to met out the justice that he so richly deserves.

Oh great, so now he can spread his culture of death through Islam among his fellow inmates throughout his lifetime.

This guy should be drawn and quartered on live television as a warning to all Islamists.

How About Some "Old Time" Justice!

Click The Pic
....in a few short weeks it will be spring. The snows of winter will flow away, the ice will vanish, the air will become soft and balmy.
The annual miracle of the years will awaken and come to pass.
The rivulet will run its soaring course to the sea.
The timid desert flowers will put fourth their tender shoots.
The glorious valleys of this imperial domain will blossom as the rose.
From every tree top, some wild songster will carol his mating song.
Butterflies will sport in the sunshine.

But you will not be here to enjoy it. Because I command the sheriff of the county to lead you away to some remote spot, swing you by the neck from a bough of some sturdy oak and let you hang until you are Dead, Dead, Dead!
You cold-blooded, blood-thirsty, throat-cutting, murdering son of a bitch!

.....Judge Roy Bean

NB:There are several versions of Judge Roy Bean's words in this case and also the person who he was passing judgment upon.

Pathetic, in theory.

This scum is a MASS murderer, not just a guy who killed one in a rage or to rob incidentally.

Mass murderers deserve death.

Pity this is the first mass murderer in ages, besides the Snipers, who survived his crime and leaves fools to decide his dpfate.

I really prefer it when they kill themselves.

How long does the process take for him to actually arrive in the final prison? Days? weeks?

Life, huh?

Way too many dopers in Colorado. A normal state would have given him the death penalty.

Thank all the A-Hole invaders from California for ruining my beautiful, conservative, freedom loving state. I KNEW those jerks didn’t have the balls to do the right thing.

An average of 71 executions were carried out each year between 1997 and 2005; between 2006 and 2013, that number dropped to 44 executions per year. The number of executions peaked around the year 2000 and it has declined considerably since that point.

The death penalty is favored by a majority of Americans, but that number has plummeted. In 1996, 78 percent of Americans were in favor of capital punishment and 18 percent opposed it; by 2013, support had dropped to 55 percent while opposition had risen to 37 percent. The gap between supporters and opponents shrunk by 42 percentage points, which is a very big swing.

Between 1973 and 2014, 144 people who had been sentenced to death have been exonerated. Most of the overturned convictions were due to DNA evidence proving that another individual committed the crime.
