Sharpton Astounded Rand Paul Thinks People Who Work Harder Earn More
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

In the liberal universe, there's no correlation between hard work or ingenuity and financial success. As President Obama recently put it, the rich are simply "society's lottery winners."

Sounding a similar theme, Al Sharpton today declared it "astounding" that Rand Paul believes that income inequality is due to "some people working harder." Astounding, indeed! What's wrong with Rand? How could he possibly believe that someone someone who works, say, 60 hours per week might earn more than someone else who works 20?

Sharpton thinks like Obama: there’s no correlation between hard work and income. The rich are just life’s lottery winners.

Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.

If we don’t stand up to this leftist nonsense it will consume us. People used to know this is craziness.

The problem is there’s a lot more to it. I’ve worked menial jobs, and desk jobs. The menial jobs were a lot harder, and paid a lot less.

I heard Zippy scooped ice cream for a couple days once, but I’ve never heard of Sharpton working a day in his life.

Well Obama and Sharpton are lottery winners. What really do they do or produce other than strife and misery and they both make bank.
I am so done with the above mentioned and all the politicians who talk and talk and talk.

Shut up already and actually do something productive.

The rich are just life’s lottery winners.

That's certainly true of Al Sharpton.

Not so sure it's true for Tawana Brawley, whom Al doesn't seem inclined to mention any more.

well... I will have to disagree on this one.

Many of the hardest jobs (manual labor type jobs) and most of the most dangerous ones (policeman, fireman, ect) pay very little because they nearly always require little or no education.

The rich “worked hard” in school, so they wouldn’t have to work so hard later to earn a LOT more than those who choose not to work hard in school.

Maybe Sharpton doesn’t think it is work to travel the nation and with each stop passing a hat around for donations. Perhaps it is not work to get paid to spew babble on PMSNBC. Since Sharpton never had a real job, I can see where he is coming from. He’s just plain ignorant and niggardly. (In the lazy sence if the word.)

Yep. And it’s insulting to people who have those jobs. When someone who works hard on their feet all day hears someone like Rand Paul say that, it just reinforces the idea that “Republicans only care about the rich”.

Yes, it’s like Romney’s moronic 47% comment. Reagan never disrespected the working class. While we’re on the subject, who worked harder? The manager of the local credit union or John Corzine who stole a billion dollars from other people? Our system is corrupt and gives wealth to connected crooks while intentionally suppressing working class opportunities.

You’re absolutely right, there is a direct, one to one, correlation between the amount a person works, and the amount a person earns.

Just the other day, I was thinking about the number of hours a week Paris Hilton works for her $8M annual income. And I don’t even want to guess at the number of hours Kim Kardashian puts in for her $28M annual income!

"As President Obama recently put it, the rich are simply "society's lottery winners."

Plagiarized from Dick Gephardt about twenty years, or more ago. IF NOT plagiarized, then it must be a little used standard phrase from the Democrat playbook.

Of course Sharpton believes this way. He’s never worked and is rolling in dough.

I suppose this sort of thinking comes naturally to people like $harpton and Obama who have never actually had a job in their lives.
