Did Donald Trump say that about Rand Paul? Or,
Did Rand Paul say that about Donald Trump?
Life IS strange.
Politics is stranger.

Agreed. But I think it’s also “projection” on the part of DT. It seems to me that Don is maybe the biggest spoiled brat of the bunch.

You’re not allowed to know by storing and monitoring all Americans’ communications like the Stasi in east Germany.

Except that never happened here.
To: riverdawg
Yes it did. See NSA. See Snowden.

I am confident that your telephone conversations were never monitored and recorded by the NSA. Somewhere, most likely on the server of your carrier but not on the NSA server, there is a list of the numbers you dialed and the numbers of people who dialed you, the length of the conversation, where you were during the conversation, and what kind of device you were using.

Yes, this is scary enough. But it does not compare to what the Stasi did during the Cold War. The Stasi used a vast network of informants, and listened in on and routinely recorded the phone conversations of millions of ordinary East Germans. They weren't just pairing up suspect phone numbers, and using algorithms to map connections among specific targets.

Sure, I’m aware of those differences. I didn’t say they were exactly alike but was comparing the basic principle of the programs.

Not all that smart to alienate all the Rand Paul supporters who you need to vote for you to be president. Self destructing pretty fast.

Probably true, but the ones in Tennessee aren’t in as much of a position of doing harm right now
