Firestorm erupts over Trump's 'Bible connection'
WND ^ | Joe Kovacs

Posted on 08/11/2015 10:43:47 AM PDT by RoosterRedux

A Christian minister in Florida has ignited a firestorm over his suggestion that God is using Donald Trump as a divine instrument in the 2016 presidential election cycle.

In a column published in Charisma magazine, Jeremiah Johnson of Behold the Man Ministries in Lakeland, Florida, said he was praying several weeks ago “when God began to speak to me concerning the destiny of Donald Trump in America:”

The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, “Trump shall become My trumpet to the American people, for he possesses qualities that are even hard to find in My people these days. Trump does not fear man nor will he allow deception and lies to go unnoticed. I am going to use him to expose darkness and perversion in America like never before, but you must understand that he is like a bull in a china closet.

Many will want to throw him away because he will disturb their sense of peace and tranquility, but you must listen through the bantering to discover the truth that I will speak through him. I will use the wealth that I have given him to expose and launch investigations searching for the truth. Just as I raised up Cyrus to fulfill My purposes and plans, so have I raised up Trump to fulfill my purposes and plans prior to the 2016 election.

You must listen to the trumpet very closely for he will sound the alarm and many will be blessed because of his compassion and mercy. Though many see the outward pride and arrogance, I have given him the tender heart of a father that wants to lend a helping hand to the poor and the needy, to the foreigner and the stranger.”

I will bash aberrant hermeneutics whenever and wherever I see it.

Please link me to verification that he said, “I can forgive myself.”

True. But does that then infer that he believes he’s never done anything that needs forgiveness? Or does he ‘forgive himself’?

God uses all of us, as a willing slave or an unwilling instrument. The Spirit blows where It will.

You know, God can use anyone. The lesson in Daniel is God, not man, raises up and takes down kings and kingdoms. God used Nebuchadnezzar BEFORE Nebuchadnezzar came to believe. I believe Trump in the same way can become a believer (but I hope he doesn’t have to go insane to get there).

Who are you to judge? You're the only one I've heard complaining.

You didn’t get Donald Trump’s statement quite right, geron. Thanks, SotC, for posting the correct version.

Trump did say he’s never asked God for forgiveness. He did NOT say he only asked himself for forgiveness. Don’t flat out lie about the man’s remarks, geron.

Who are we to judge one person’s faith/walk with the Lord?

Yes, I agree with you. God can use anyone including Trump. And he doesn’t necessarily use Christians. Jeremiah Johnson is well respected, I wouldn’t dismiss his words.

The primary season is supposed to include many views so as to influence the Republican Platform. We need Trump for illegal immigration and foreign trade.

Unfortunately, the GOPe has rigged the game so that what the voters want never happens.

Dole Rejects a Party Plank
August 24, 1996

NASHVILLE, Aug. 23— Publicly repudiating a portion of his party's platform for the first time since the Republican National Convention, Bob Dole told a convention of black journalists here today that he would not support a constitutional amendment to deny automatic citizenship for children who are born in this country to illegal immigrants.

Mr. Dole, who made no secret at the convention that he had not yet read the entire platform, implied today that he had now given it a more thorough review and did not like everything he saw, including the proposed immigration amendment.

‘’I have due respect for the platform,’’ Mr. Dole said. ‘’I read a lot of parts that I thought were essential. I approved of a lot of parts that I thought were essential. That was not one of them.’’ (snip)

Marla Maples wasn't a porn star.

Or perhaps you can provide a link for that too?

Hmmm. Paul and the believers of his time knew what God is doing. God says in his Word he wants you to know what he is doing. But if you don’t want to know, he won’t push himself on you.

I have not seen where Trump said he just forgives himself. But he did say he does not ask God for forgiveness.
IOW, he accepts full responsibility for his actions...HOW REFRESHING!

Sinners go out and continue to sin without guilt because of the hypocritical, selfish notion you will be forgiven if you just ask. Asking for forgiveness for yourself is hypocritical and selfish.

I couldn't agree more with Trump on this

Church is just a gathering place for self-righteous hypocrites.

Think of this as more of a prayer than a prophesy. Many ppl, believers and unbelievers are looking and hoping for someone to undo the damage that Obama has done.

At this point they believe that if it is not Trump, it has to be someone like him that can withstand the war that the cornered political class will unleash to ensure their survival.

BTW Bill O’reilly of FOX...is not for Trump there would be no Kate’s law!!

Please overlook any formatting or typos, this is my 1st FR post
