...he needs to be looking for solutions for the entire Northeast Corridor....
&&&
Step #1 would be to get the government out of the RR business and let the market determine what gets fixed.
Every foot of those tunnels, every mile of railroad track in this article was originally built by a private company.
Yet, the state governments and the federal government who now own them can't figure out how to rebuild or even repair and maintain them.
The solution is obvious—— increase foreign aid and import twenty million more dreamers, refugees and H1bs who will fix the infra-structure Americans don’t want to.
There, I solved the problem.
Here on my little homestead out in the country in South Carolina, I sit and am truly thankful that I don’t have to worry about the Northeast Transportation Corridor.
Oh, that! That money Obama demanded for “infrastructure” accidentally fell down the old Memory Hole. - Now it’s just a vague memory, in a Bank, in the middle of Beverly Hills, in Somebody Else’s Name. Remember?
That is the Northeast’s solution; traffick Third Worlders here so the trains (and homes and schools and store aisles) aren’t empty. The real problem for the northeast is that the whole nanny-state concept, in which well-paid American taxpayers would continue feeding the infrastructure and government workforce, has collapsed; the jobs have fled, and the workers are following. Rather than let nature take its course with “Detroitification” (a return to nature of sorts), the nanny-state beneficiaries (the government workforce mentioned above) have simply opted to replace the fleeing taxpayers with foreigners. Most of their sustenance must be derived from federal programs, so taxpayers in Texas are housing, feeding, and educating the “replacement Americans” in the northeast (who would be lucky to find any kind of work, and much of it below any taxable salaries).
Some of them should be called that, no doubt.
