MEGYN KELLY: THE FIRST CASUALTY IN DONALD TRUMP’S ‘ASYMMETRIC’ WAR ON FOX NEWS
Breitbart ^ | August28,2015 | Matthew Bolye

Posted on 08/28/2015 5:31:27 AM PDT by Hojczyk

2016 GOP frontrunner and billionaire Donald Trump already won his war with the Fox News Channel’s Megyn Kelly.

She’s exposed as having a point of view, rather than being a purely impartial arbiter of news. Now he’s just having fun as a larger war between him and the network’s powers-that-be looms.

But what Trump has done in a truly special manner is expose that fallacy. It’s not that Trump’s war with Kelly isn’t petty—it is, and it is probably counterproductive to be fighting with a television personality for weeks on end as he’s soaring in the polls. He could be fighting with the Mexican or Chinese governments or with Democrats or his fellow GOP candidates—all of which would be more conducive to helping him earn more supporters—but Trump isn’t someone who backs down easily–and since Kelly came after him, not the other way around, he feels like he needs to win. Well, in the regard of whether or not Kelly is in fact impartial, Trump has a decisive victory.

That doesn’t mean that Kelly will see a drop in ratings or a loss of status in the media. She’s still the top dog on the Fox News Channel, and her show still gets incredible ratings. Until a credible competitor emerges—CNN and MSNBC certainly haven’t been able to make the cut—she’ll remain there, just like O’Reilly and Hannity have. But Trump has taken one thing away from her that she and her bosses at Fox can never replace, no matter how much time or money they spend on it: the appearance of impartiality.

As an aside, Tomi spoke at CPAC and described herself as a fiscal conservative but a “moderate” (i.e. liberal) on social issues.

That was disappointing.

You need to do a little more research on Trump. He got $200 million from his father in the early 70s, and has underperformed with it since then. He isn't as wealthy as he portrays himself, and he has admitted that in court depositions. His net worth is more in the range of $150-$250 million. he sued the writer who proved that and lost in court. He didn't even come close to keeping pace with inflation with the money his father gave him. He is a mid tier NYC real estate developer and a relentless self promoter. Beyond that, he's had more failures in business, than successes. His business, such as it is, is not that capitalistic: he relies on big government cronyism. He's proud of using eminent domain to take private property using the government. He uses bureaucratic connections to leech of the government.

Besides which, what about George Soros, or Warren Buffet. They actually did become stunningly wealthy and they are socialists. How do you explain that?

Trump isn't going to run, because the truth about his business would come out.

well I refuse to turn the channel on and add to her ratings if her show is on.

I'm close, but not ready to write off all of Fox News.

But as for blondie, I now can't even stand the sound of her smarmy voice. And if Fox starts bad mouthing us viewers who see less of Fox now, I will start looking for an alternate news source. I hear there is a new News channel.

Then turn on Greta she has more news than Megyn anyway. I record Greta, Hannity and the Bloviator but no longer record Megyn. I record because I can watch all three in 15 or twenty minutes as I fast forward past all the leftest crud they have on.

From what I’ve seen, her rating haven’t gone down. I think that, while she and Faux have lost a huge number of conservative viewers, they have picked up at least an equal number of other (liberal, independent, low info viewers) and her audience numbers have stayed the same or picked up slightly.

Once those new viewers have watched for a while, I think they’ll go back to the ABCBSCNNBC shows and MeGyn’s ratings will drop then. It could take some time though.

Probably by that time, she’ll head to another outlet where her liberal marxist views will fit in better. Like MSNBC, although they might not want to be made to look conservative by comparison with her, let alone their manly women won’t like being compared to her on looks (which seems to be all she’s got to differentiate).

Guess it depends on which host/executive she sleeps with in the future.

I now watch One America News. Graham Ledger and Toni Lahren are more to my liking.

I can't wait for Comcast cable to add One America News to their lineup.
HEY COMCAST WAKE UP!
Let me give up Univision, the illegals Network, and give me One America News!

The only other world news channel is CNN, and there aren't that many unscheduled world events they can spin.

We don’t vote for or get excited about pro-abort politicians, regardless of whether they are petty or not. Trump is as much a pro-lifer as Romney was. Some kids count; some don’t.

Saw two new faces on FOXnews today. A goodlooking black man in D.C., and a lovely young woman who did not appear to be grinding an axe.

Both said they had worked together on another network. (CNN?)

My life has been soooooooooooo much better since I quit watching FAUX news — it will be three years this November.

No withdrawal symptoms at all!

And, my TV set is still intact!

I believe people need to de-Foxify from this source of commentary, their editorial, etc etc etc...

Fair and Balanced my azz...That went out a lonnggg time ago...

If you still want to stomach matter-of-fact stories on incidents, newsworthy events, then sure, FauxNews might deliver more that the other main-stream trickles out to the unwashed masses...

But as soon as the droning of relentless coverage, and the experts are rolled out, and the presenters begin their 24/7 speculation till the next “Breaking News” segment, which begins after every single Roseland Capital, or Ensure commercial break...

I usually go back to my book...

I was over at a a friends house for the debate the other night, and their cable service they had, had a news service called “OAN”, or something like that, I only caught a brief glimpse of it...It looks like a bare bones Headline News, but with a less opinionated slant to it...

They had U-verse cable feed...IIRC...

Just my observations...

Odd how a supposed “conservative” would have an asymmetric war against the only cable channel willing to at least attempt to fairly present the conservative point of view.
