The bible does not say merely hope. It says pray.
A common folly here is the assumption that past must dictate future. If it really always does, then we might as well hang it up, partay like there is no tomorrow because there won’t be one, we will all perish quickly.
You hit on a core issue here.
The bible says that in the last days it will be worse for the living than at any time in human history. I firmly believe we are on the cusp of such times. I think it will be very bad no matter who is elected because I think we are past the time for a human solution. This means the final ruler will be the ultimate strong man - the beast.
I know the beast will gain power in his time, but I don’t want to be one of the ones that voted for him, whoever he ends up being.
