You have an excellent point there, Cuban Leaf. I like Trump as a candidate, and he is a breath of fresh air on the stump. I hope he encourages other (?) conservative candidates to get bolder with the media and the Democrats, and stop playing the beltway game. But Trump’s temperament is good in some ways and dangerous in others. We have no way of knowing what characteristics a Trump presidency would have. What are his settled convictions? His core beliefs? We don’t really know, do we?

....."What are his settled convictions? His core beliefs? We don’t really know, do we?"..... We don't because Trump is a "flexible" individual who adapts to whatever will get him his ultimate goal....he's accustomed to "playing" all sides to obtain the end he seeks. But in doing so it's very difficult to pin him down on what his convictions are other then to continue the path he is currently on...to remain in the race despite the barrage of attacks. So far he can say he's successful in achieving this but a lot can happen between now and the end game.

Recently this has been traveling the social media etc. It means nothing more than what I wrote above....but will be "played" against Trump as not being Conservative.....thus the opposition will play their hand as well....it's ow the left works.

All these people who really like Trump but hope some other candidate replaces him, huh?

HE DOESN’T HAVE TO BE PERFECT!!

The fact that he will actually do something about immigration should get him elected on that alone. None of the others will, not really. They’d get in office and worry about working with the other side, that’s how they roll.

But Trump doesn’t roll that way. If he promises to stop illegal immigration then, by God he’ll do it. If he doesn’t agree with me on every issue, that’s ok. None of them do.

We don’t have to marry Trump but someone has to be President. The question many FReepers keep asking is, Is He One Of Us? Meaning revering the Constitution and the country the framers set up.

It’s the wrong question.

My question is, can he successfully fight the cabal running the country right now using their media as our “cattle” prod? Or he is part of the cabal? The cabal has both sides of the aisle enslaved to them by greed. Trump has allowed us to remember Of the People, By the people, For the People. Our kids don’t even have a clue; they’ve never thought about it and were never taught the Constitution and our Gd given power.

Trump and Cruz are two of the few public figures who want that for us, who mean to try and get that for us. What people believe at this point isn’t as important as what they can do and whether they can run the gauntlet of the very unfair media election system.

If he’s serious about running America like a business (and he knows a thing or two about that) then he’s going to gravitate conservative. Progressive policies please small interest groups but they also sap America as a whole. It’s the nature of the beast and it’s already showing.

I think we do know. Quite clearly it's what is best for Trump, primarily as it affects his making money.

Trumps temperament is no worse than LBJ’s or Bill Clinton’s.

Ditto. I love his anti-PC stance. But, lets not kid ourselves - he’s no conservative. He will do his own thing as Pres - even if surrounded by conservatives. His public statements, while fun to watch, merely reflect what will get him the most press at any given time.

I’m not voting for him. There are several other candidates who, while I don’t always agree with, have proven they will govern as conservatives. With Trump, it’s a pig -in-a-poke.
