On Deportation: A Modest Proposal [Here's something even liberals will like]
American Thinker ^ | 08/31/2015 | Tom Trinko

Posted on 08/31/2015 7:33:48 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Liberals and the MSM constantly tell us that illegals are good for the country, that they are hardworking and pay their own way.

As a result, we're told that it would be wrong to deport them.

Given that "reality," even staunch conservatives should agree with the following: let's let any illegal who works hard and pays his own way stay.

If illegals are all that Democrats say they are, illegals will never cross the path of any government organization and won't burden honest Americans financially.

In light of that, let's consider the following deportation solution: any illegal who costs the U.S. money and who interacts with a branch of government – local, state, or federal – will be immediately deported.

With that policy, only illegals who are costing honest Americans money and who interact with the government need live in fear of deportation. None of the hardworking, pay-their-own-way illegals will ever lose a night's sleep over the possibility of being ejected from this land they love so much.

Obviously, if liberals actually believe what they say about illegals, they'll embrace this proposal as a wonderful compromise.

Of course, some small segments of the illegal community, as described by liberals, would be at risk.

An illegal who drives up medical costs for Americans by getting free care at hospitals would get his immediate problem treated but then would find himself back in his home country's medical care system.

Of course, if a private charity paid the medical bills, then the illegal would be safe. Given the great love liberals have for illegals, it's clear that liberals would be glad to donate their own money – not the money earned by others and collected as taxes – to pay for the health care of illegals.

That ‘modest proposal’ is something you could drive a truck through, we are either a nation of laws, or we are no nation at all.

If someone is in this country illegally, they’ve got to go. IF upon review of their personal situation, their work history, and LACK of any criminal offenses, they can perhaps be classified as eligible to return to the United States in a legal manner.

The ‘86 amnesty legislation which received the signature of Ronald Reagan was SUPPOSED to solve this issue, and had it been enforced and not undermined and sabotaged by the likes of the Dead Fat Teddy Kennedy and his fellow ‘RATS, we wouldn’t be facing this situation today.

Enforce the laws on the books. That’s MY ‘modest proposal’.

Triple the Border Patrol and ICE. Put them to work finding and removing illegals, as well as protecting teh border. Add in National Guard as needed.

Build a wall AND a fence, and supplement it with drones.

Cut off ALL benefits to illegals.

Increase the penalties for employing illegals to include jail time — then enforce it.

See what happens.

What does Mexico do with illegals? Most countries have reciprocal agreements with neighboring countries. At the least, they should be required to leave the USA and apply for permission to re-enter from outside, as ALL other countries require.
People refuse to see that these waves from south of the border are not expected to work or pull their own weight. Their purpose is to vote ‘D’.
Just as homosexuals have to recruit minors to increase their numbers, socialists have to import them in greater numbers as people here come to their senses and reject the liberal platform.

Tom, let's NOT! If I had my way I'd deport your a$$, too. There have been cases of a fugitive of 20 or more years was finally apprehended for some felony or crime and jailed and convicted like they should have been in the first place. Under the equal protection clause, I say we should not deny these people the "equal protection" and implied enforcement aspect of that clause. I don't give a rat's patootie if they can pay their way. We don't want them in the first place and we certainly don't need them.

Dipwads like the author still think we have an endless supply of money and compassion left for the cousins, uncles, fathers, and mothers of our respectful law-abiding gang members in this country. The law is just something they can bend to make themselves feel good and somehow vote for a Democrat or a RINO.

Bull crap! They are here illegally...period. The laws currently on the books details exactly what should be done with them, and that's that. Give Paco and his friends a choice: go back home or go to jail. If they are caught a second time, it's hard jail time.

Hard working illegals are almost as bad as the ones that suck up benefits.
They are stealing jobs!

Stupid article. Does the author realize it is against the law for illegals to work and it is illegal to hire them. If you legalize it, then you can expect even more illegal aliens to come here and employers will happily hire them because they cost less than American workers. Also, they are indentured workers with the employer holding control over their ability to stay in the country.

This is not an accident, and it's not even a plot to get more illegals eventually legalized. It's much simpler. Dead Fat Teddy, drug-addled Barack, Shrieking Pelosi, Act of Love Jeb, and their ilk want illegals here illegally because they provide a compliant, low-cost labor force. US citizens are neither compliant nor low-cost, and legal immigrants may be compliant but they cost as much as Americans. Crony capitalism produces a bias toward creating an underclass of illegals because illegals produce the highest profits. I'm a big fan of real capitalism, but the manipulated big government version disgusts me.

Everything will shake itself out.

Public schools? (Private schools?) Emergency rooms? Department of Motor Vehicles? Social Security Administration? Recorders of deeds?

Hell with it.

Just deport the bastards.

Why stop at 40%?

Make it an even 50/50 on ANY money transfers from the U.S. to Mexico. That will provide an incentive on the sender to spend that cash within OUR borders instead of subsidizing whoever is in Mexico with their hand out.
