Trump is for higher taxes. No thank you.

No problem. Quit farming and allow people with sense to work the land illegal free. Win win. These ‘farmers’ seem determined to propagate the stereotype.

Here is an idea-— pay U.S. citizens enough so that they are willing to do the work..

So, these farmers admit to hiring illegal workers?

So now we are to believe Politico is concerned about American farmers. Give me a break. Farmers do not want to be outlaws, they want a legitimate guest worker law, but the bastards in Washington will not do it without an amnesty grant.

“undocumented immigrants”

Sorry, I can only read articles written in English, not newspeak.

I’m sure it’s likely about some low-life farmers that depend on illegals and dont want the laws enforced.

I have a lot of respect for farmers but...

Their use of “guest workers” is simply a way to transfer their labor costs onto the backs of the U.S. taxpayer.

It’s likely the price of produce would increase if they weren’t able to take advantage of illegals, but it would reflect the true costs of the product and not artificially lowered prices that are subsidized through entitlements laundered through the government.

Let the farmer or any contractor also pay for all the social costs associated with hiring migrants instead of dumping them on the backs of taxpayers.

Its only fair if you want to import the labor.

What’s that? Not such a cheap deal anymore?

Do what cotton farmers did. Invest in mechanical pickers for your fruit and vegetable crops. We have millions of illegals sitting on their butts and collecting welfare…71% of illegal households receive taxpayer “assistance”…so if they can get Free Stuff without working, your days of cheap labor are over. The rest of us are sick of subsidizing your profits.

Waaaaaah. I won’t be able to keep my labor costs low by breaking the law anymore. Sniff.

Getting rid of the EPA would help farmers. They will find a way to harvest the fields after the wall is built.

Pray America is waking

Farmers: Trump 'terrible for the continuation of the government gravy train at the expense of the American taxpayer'

There, title fixed. This is what they really mean

I can’t believe it.
In a country that implemented ObamaCare and gay marriage..now suddenly were a nation of ‘can’t do’s”
Come on Farmers!
If a trans-whatever can be hired at the Casa Blanca than surely you can figure out a solution?
If we can make deals that allows Iran to get the nuke than this ought to be childs play?
If Faggakhan, BlackLivesmurder, the Black Pansies Party can step up, with the blessings of king ‘butthole’ ibama, and call for the death of whitey and cops.
If Hillary can escape jail time.
If the GOPe can endorse Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, John McCain

Then someone tell me what isn’t possible in America?

This is America! Home of the Clintons and Obamas. This is the confiscated lands of the Federal Government. Don’t tell me Ameri-can’t!

It’s not just the harvest. When Trump places tariffs on imports to the U.S. then every other country will place tariffs on our exports to them. That includes a lot of agricultural produce - wheat, corn, soybeans, cotton, etc. I expect U.S. farmers will see their overseas markets dry up pretty quickly.

California farmers: The new slave holders

Why hire a legal worker for minimum wage when you can pay an illegal worker an illegal wage ($3/hour)?

In a free market this farmer would have to raise what he is willing to pay “legal” workers until he gets the workers he needs. He would then pass the added cost onto consumers.

If your business can’t turn a profit without hiring illegal labor, then you’ve got a poor business model.

The same farmers that brought us sugar and peanut tariffs, mandatory ethanol in our tanks, taxpayer crop subsidies and the genesis of the subprime mortgage meltdown??

I used to work with farmers. They will come across as the most down-to-earth Conservative souls on the planet. Until you challenge their favorite Federal giveaway program. Then they’re ready to mow you down with a thresher.
