Around 1989, in the early age of PC’s, my AF office had three. Probably on the entire base....there were a dozen. We had an order come down one morning...we had to cough up one of our PC’s to the Colonel upstairs in the building. We argued about this, but were told that in six months...we’d get a new one. So we complied.
The geek in the shop took it up there, and he was given special instructions by the administrative gal...set it up on the Colonel’s desk and have it set to boot up when turned up....to just show some work in progress. So he did this. Nothing made sense about this.
Weeks later, our boss finally told us the rest of the story. The Colonel had people coming to visit and he needed impressions upon them....so he was ‘pretending’ to be computer literate and hourly using a computer. The truth was....he knew absolutely nothing. It was a dust collector and simply burning electricity.
In 2010, when I went to DC for three years of work....I noted a conversation I had with computer trainer. He had a second job on the side for weekends....making roughly a thousand dollars for a two-day seminar...which was usually limited to one student only. The seminar concerned the beginner use of Blackberrys, Smart-Phones, and laptops. These were high executives coming into big-time GS jobs in DC, but they had no real computer knowledge. I asked him how often he did this full-weekend job....he grinned...probably thirty weekends a year. He figured there were a dozen guys like him...all doing the same thing in DC.

Amen, looking at what the democrat party is offering up for the presidency is enough to make a sane person want to go and hide in a cave somewhere. Hillary is beyond satire as is her main “competition” Bernie Sanders and the answer to those two is...Joe the creepy dingaling? Just when I thought there was no way to step down from what we have now they seem determined to prove me wrong.
