His last words were probably something on the order of “They’ll never take me alive”.

The biggest loser is the infant. Sigh.
Poor choice of companions.
Might be the best thing that ever happened to the infant.
If the infant is placed in a decent adoptive home, he will have a much better chance in life than with parents who brought him to a midnight shootout.
WRONG..... He now has a chance.....before that he was doomed to the perp lifestyle. Adoption may make him or her be raised by humans instead of animals
Or, his last words were “I ain’t going back to prison!”
Or, “Come and get me, coppers!”
Or, “I ain’t afraid of your m*****f****ing guns!!”
On the other hand, it may be better that the baby have a chance without those two people.
