We have seen this in many conflicts now, even Korea and Vietnam but we really see the different value of human life when battling Islamists p>
Saddam was a master at this, placing strategic weapons command posts etc in civilian population centers, mosques, schools, hospitals
Most of our bleeding heart naive liberal press probably never realized during Desert Storm that Saddam had a major command post in the basement of the hotel where they were all staying
In one coalition attack that killed over 100 civilians, Saddam had those people herded at gunpoint into the facility that was attacked knowing the press would decry the brutality of Bush bombing
When Syrian terror militia attack govt forces from civilian areas they glory in the govt counterattack causing civilian death, for them it is part if their anti govt campaign and as always, it works with the gullible western media.
Hamas does same thing in Gaza trying to goad Israel into counter strikes on civilians
So must take casualty reports with a skeptical eye as to who caused what deaths and how and why
If it is factual that China is now involved in Syria then that is a game changer. When is the last time China ever committed military force in an offensive, strategic manner? And in the Mid-East? Wow.
For those who follow eschatology, China engaged militarily in the Mid-East is a significant development, IMO.
The world’s armies seem to be slowly coalescing in the Middle Eastern area.
And one fact nobody can change is most of ISIS’s weaponry is Chinese and Soviet products. http://www.dailysabah.com/mideast/2014/10/08/isis-using-chinese-american-and-russian-manufactured-weapons Then American and then Russian. So, somehow, Daesh has a lot of Chinese munitions.
You need to do some more research as this is complex - and simplistic
Admiral James “ Ace” Lyons, bless his warrior heart, is speaking out on many security issues past and present
Admiral Lyons says we had direct confirmation the order for the Beirut barracks bombing came from Iran and the US Navy was locked loaded and ready to retaliate
But Washington ( Weinberger) would not issue the order)
To date this point in history, Lebanon was in the midst of a civil war, why were our Marines even there?
I have no doubt Syrian operatives would have worked at Iranian orders. Hafez Al Assad was owned by Iran that paid for his loyalty with the oil that the desperately poor Syria needed
Revelations anyone?
Before we attack Putin for trying to stabilize the known quantity Assad - can anyone tell me exactly WHAT Obama is trying to achieve in Syria?
C’mon - what’s his and the USA’s plan there? Arm unknown “rebel” groups? Attack ISIS? Turn the country over to the Saudi Secret Services for oil pipelines? Poke Putin in the eye? Create more refugees?
Can anyone tell me?
Gatestone institute may be neo-cons but they are not liberals.
Assad Slaughtering Syrian Christians

No, he didn’t “start this,” unless your memory is very, very short or you were born less than ten years ago.
If you really want to get to the roots just look up Zarqawi and his Palestinian terrorist group that was attempting to destabilize Jordan back in the 90s; they after all are the core of what is now called ISIS.
A primer:
http://www.washingtoninstitute.org/policy-analysis/view/zarqawis-jordanian-agenda
And remember that when obama launched his unauthorized war in Libya and chaos descended on Libya, China chartered sea and aircraft into Libya and evacuated its oilfield workers 30,000 people!
While in other news, US citizens in Yemen were advised to go ask the Russians to sealift them out
Foment chaos. It’s that simple. Cloward-Piven on a global scale.
Yeah, that’s the issue. There is no plan. Obama reacts, and does so poorly. He has no plan because he has no idea what he’s doing.
Specifically, what was announced?
I knew Iran was part of the "coalition" (Axis?), but have heard nothing about China participating in any operations. Only rumor.
Do you have an article referencing China?
I am quite curious.
Assad regime like all Arab totalitarians was not sweet though nothing like daddy
But look where w are now
Stupid State Dept
Stupid media
Stupid Europe
Putin understands real politic nd Islams threat
Just ask Chechnyan jihadis
And likely a permanent forward air base in the Levant.
And staging facilities for the delivery of a couple of airborne divisions should it ever be necessary.
The announced US policy of eliminating Assad is no longer operative. Assad is now secure.
And, compared to US incompetence and weakness fighting ISIS...this may be a good thing for the region. Somebody HAS to do this and I'm glad it's not US forces.
PRC has never operating more than 500 miles from their border.
What is the SOURCE reference for Chinese intervention?
The Korean Conflict. Vietnam 1979.
Finally! Someone the Kurds can depend on!
Korea, sure. Forgot about that. Vietnam, how did I miss that? In any case, last time was roughly 35 years ago and that was in their back yard. This is a wholly new power projection for them.
See post #4. Also, that’s why I stated, “If it is factual...”
