Donald Trump Calls Rising CEO Pay a ‘Complete Joke’

Donald Trump said Sunday in an interview with CBS that ballooning CEO pay is “a total and complete joke,” sounding a populist tone as he continues to stir up the Republican base in his run for president.

“It does bug me. It’s very hard if you have a free enterprise system to do anything about that,” the Republican presidential frontrunner told CBS’ Face the Nation Sunday when asked about CEO pay. “You know the boards of companies are supposed to do it but I know companies very well and the CEO puts in all his friends…and they get whatever they want you know because their friends love sitting on the board.”

Trump takes some unorthodox views that set him apart from traditional Republicans, railing against free trade deals and the notion of cutting Medicare and Social Security. He once supported a single-payer healthcare system.

Yes, he did. What not asked what to do about it, if anything. Good interview.

He’s right about CEO pay—and boards filled with pals.

I wish he’d come out more strongly against single payer, though he is advocating a free market healthcare solution.

Any health care system that WORKED and was FAIR and REASONABLY PRICED would be fine with anyone.

The Pols have a record of bastardizing, wordsmithing, and f’ing things up so bad that the labels ‘Single Payer’ and ‘Socialized Medicine’ have no meaning.

He’s found another, more subtle way of taking a shot at Fiorina.

When Fiorina was asked to resign at Hewlett Packard, she was given close to $42 Million in severance pay.

See here:

I volunteer to be fired or laid off for a tenth of that amount :)

I think Trump is getting close to the problem. It’s not the rich guy that own 5 care dealerships and makes a couple million a year. It’s not the person that runs a 100 million dollar company that makes generators.

The problem is the uber elite. These are the people that are tax exempt because they can live anywhere and shield their income via trusts and non-profits. These are the people that work with governments to kill of the competition. These are the Satanist freaks that really do get into blood sacrifice, pedophilia and trans-humanism. These are the people that have deceived the public into attacking the productive top 1% income earners as a way of diverting attention from them.

Bill Gates, Soros, Warren Buffet, the top echelon running big governments, central banks and large multinational corporations. These people ARE the enemies of humanity.

What we need is a system that minimizes both single-payer (Medicaid and Medicare) and third-party payer (insurance companies as intermediaries).

Trump is advocating some basic free market reforms, though it seems the GOP in general has been scared away from dropping the unfair employer subsidy that inevitably warps the market.

The big corporations are internationalist and hostile to freedom of religion and speech in this country, buying politicians to promote their self interest on trade or Obamacare, plus more.

Some examples of corporate wrongdoing include ESPN (DISNEY-ABC) taking Curt Schilling off the air on baseball games for his comments about Islamic terrorism or Apple and Wal-Mart opposing religious freedom laws in Indiana and Arkansas and Republican politicians folding like a house of cards to their demands.

The Germans have one of the best health system in the world, having been working with it since the 1880s, but now they have running up against an inability to finance it, Have to have enough workers to pay for it.

When Romney did this, Freepers called him a Democrat.

What does that have to do with the pay issue?

Oh, and ESPN is entirely within their right to fire talent. You can’t extend free speech to private venues without denying the owners of private venues their own free speech.

Saying “Rising CEO pay is a complete joke” - fine
Demanding CEOs rising pay be curbed by force of guilt or government - not fine.

“Bill Gates, Soros, Warren Buffet,”

Gates - entrepreneur source of wealth

Soros - made his wealth as a highly successful hedge fund manager

Buffet - made his wealth by having all his money in the most successful investment vehicle of his generation

None of those would be targets of high CEO pay issues

The people he’s targeting would be the Jeff Immelts, Carly’s, Jamie Dimans and so on.
