Speaking of unions, the reason Trump chose Ford as an example is because Ford announced it may move the production of the Focus and the C-MAX from Wayne Assembly in Mich., and replace them with the production of a new Ford Ranger there in 2018. But Ford must negotiate the move with the UAW first.

Negotiate concessions from the UAW first. Ford could move production somewhere else and then closed down the Wayne plant. Nothing prevents them from doing that. But if the UAW will give in in some areas and generate cost savings at Wayne then Ford will move production of another line there and save all those jobs.
