I think Carly did very poorly in the "debate". She came off as all rhetoric and no substance, "shrill harpy" as you say is a good description. Carson also under performed badly. Carly and Carson were the big losers.
Rubio sounded like a leader that knows what he is talking about, so I think he helped himself. Paul was impressive too.
Trump held his own under blistering attacks. I'd say he did what he had to do, so since he is the front runner he was the debate "winner". Jeb didn't get the job done so he was the debate "loser".
The rest were forgettable, sadly I have to put Cruz in the forgettable camp.
CNN did a vastly better job of moderating the debate than Fox. CNN came out a winner, Fox comes out a loser.
That tick has gotten worse over the years. It’s distracting.
I think Fiorina’s ambitions are bigger than her talents.
And only a corrupt party would think of putting $100,000,000 into the effort.
Trump didn't.

What? Carly was all prepackaged quotes that she repeats often. She will be exposed in the next debate unless she gets fresh material. Her routine about Lady Liberty and Lady Justice sounded like high school debate stuff had me rolling my eyes.
I tried to look at it a bit dispassionately, and came up with the following list of those who looked good.
Fiorina, Rubio, Christie, Walker (did not look wooden this time), and Cruz (who looked a little stiff) did the best, with Huckaphony almost staying with them.
Trump maintained, did better than last time, but he more often than not was shown scowling or making some kind of face. He didn't hurt himself at all, debates aren't going to be a strength for him.
Kasich was up and down, Carson did okay, but had some downs.
Losers: Jeb, who actually did better than last time, but looked like a beta male deer in the headlights a lot. He lost because he didn't gain. Rand Paul, who simply bombed and as Trump said, shouldn't be on the stage.
Tapper was a fairly good moderator, but eleven candidates is too much to actually explore anything; Tapper did far better than Fox.
It was entertaining, and my TV was never in danger........

So does a vienna sausage can and almost nobody even tries saving them for the small aluminum value. Beer cans and pop cans, yeah. They are worth something. But hardly anyone fools with vienna sausage cans.
So it is with Jeb. Mitt Romney must be kicking himself for agreeing to be a placeholder for this guy.

Well, there's another even more potent schtick that I thought would get old after awhile....and I haven't been right about that (yet). But seriously, CC was very good last night, all except his bashing of Trump and Carly for talking about their records - SINCE they were both asked about their records. That was a bridge too far, but CC was THE BEST at trying to refocus Tapper back on Obama. It didn't work, but CC tried.
And no, not a fan of CC at all. Never forgive him for his groveling hug of Obama and shameless hands out for our money after hurricane....and the fact it damned well might have re elected Obama. But none of that changes the fact he was the best estab hack last night, and jeb was the worst.
