You Can Now Donate to the Ahmed Mohamed STEM Scholarship Fund

On Wednesday, the story of Ahmed Mohamed erupted online. The 14-year-old from Irving, Texas, was suspended from MacArthur High School and arrested after he brought a homemade clock to school that a teacher mistook for a bomb.

After the story went viral and gained widespread support, Mohamed's family created a LaunchGood initiative on Wednesday seeking to add some cold hard cash to the teenager's newfound fame. The #IStandWithAhmed campaign hopes to raise money to support Mohamed and others like him with a scholarship to pursue their education in a STEM field.

Within hours of its creation, the campaign raised more than $7,500 and appears well-positioned to reach a stated $100,000 goal by the end of the fundraising period in 27 days.

According to the campaign, 50% of the funds will be allocated to Mohamed, while the other 50% will be given to other promising youths toward a one-year scholarship to MakerSpace. . .

"So there you have it folks, Ahmed Mohamad did not invent, nor build a clock. He took apart an existing clock, and transplanted the guts into a pencil box, and claimed it was his own creation. It all seems really fishy to me."

Read the whole story at Reverse Engineering Ahmed Mohamed’s Clock… and Ourselves.

So now they’re trying raise a $100k? For nothing. Just to help pay for college (in like 5 years, and only 50% of it)? Seems like something fishy is going on.

Osama Bin Laden studied economics and business administration before changing his interests to the study of the Quran and Jihad. You know the old saying, “A muslim mind is a terrible waste”...or something like that.

The kid did not make it. he would not know a clock or wannabe bomb from a horse’s ass. What he did do is take something someone else made to school and plugged it into an electrical outlet as instructed. And waited for the fireworks.

[Seems like something fishy is going on.]

Yeah, remember the six imans on a plane?

Wikipedia:

On November 20, 2006, 6:30pm, six Muslim imams were removed from US Airways Flight 300 to Phoenix, Arizona, at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport, because several passengers and crew members became alarmed by what they felt was suspicious behavior.[1][2] The airline has stated that the captain delayed takeoff and called airport security workers to ask the imams to leave the plane; the men refused, and that the captain then called police. The plane left without the imams on board about three hours later. The imams were detained, questioned, and then released.

The imams, along with the Muslim American Society and the Council on American-Islamic Relations, have brought high-profile complaints and demonstrations against the airline, saying they were removed from the airplane solely due to religious discrimination. Investigations by the airline and police reported that the airline and ground crews responded to security concerns properly in removing the men from the plane.[3]
