The sad truth is that a lot of the Greatest Generation voted this country in a leftward direction for decades. LBJ was a WWII vet. He gave us the Great Society.
People are quick to see the Greatest Generation as a golden generation which was pure and holy.
People are also quick to see the Baby Boomers as a generation that took drugs and danced in the mud at Woodstock.
I'd prefer that people look back at the Founders and just support Limited Government. Who cares what the generations of the twentieth century did or did not do?

Wise encouragement. The Founders studied classical texts for the sake of knowledge and wisdom itself. It is rare to find such people of today.
