Ben Carson appeared with Sean Hannity tonight to clarify what he meant when he said I would not advocate that we put a Muslim in charge of this nation.
On Meet the Press yesterday, Carson said that he doesnt believe Muslims should be president because their faith does not align with the Constitution. He was criticized left and right, but his campaign defended the remarks and insisted the people are with them on this.
On Hannity tonight, Carson said that we do not put people at the leadership of our country whose faith might interfere with them carrying out the duties of the Constitution, which he insisted applies to every faith, not just Islam.
But he still singled out Islam in particular, saying any Muslim candidate should reject the more controversial tenets of their faith and accept the American way of life, which he assumed would make them heretics to the faith.
Hannity noticed he was ever-so-slightly tempering his earlier remarks and asked, Did you mean to say radical Islamist? Carson said, That was implied.
Watch the video below, via Fox News:
The man is totally correct, look at how messed up things are, really shows what is the the real cause of it all, conflicting loyalties.
All he had to say is “I will not support a Muslim President because look at the massive F up the current one is.”
Seriously, what is the big deal with all of this crap?
Trump answered the question fine to begin with. It wasn’t his job to defend the Obama’s faith.
Carson is right that the idea of a Muslim President doesn’t jive with the ideas of Sharia law and would proove counter to the Constitution.
Cruz is right that not allowing those qualified to run for POTUS, inclduing Muslims would be unconsitutional. The onus to realize the discrepancy and contradictions between faith and the Constitution would lie with the voters. If the voters fail that task on such a large level, they have no one to blame but themselves.
So what’s the big deal. Tell the MSM to FReep off and get back to the issues that matter.
Ok now the left turn this into banning Christians from office because of their belief that homosexuality and abortion are sins.
Listening to a repeat of O’Reilly now and about to fall out of chair, He’s defending Carson like a sane man! WoW
Ben needs to hold his ground and not give an inch. If he lets the media have one inch of ground he will never have a moments peace for the rest of his campaign.
and, BOR is all worked-up, listen to his tone of voice...interesting.
There is no big deal. It is again the media making a fake outrage trying to pick their President.
I am impressed wit Carson’s honesty an strength. He didn’t chose a political cores t answer, but chose an accurate answer
All he had to say is I will not support a Muslim President because look at the massive F up the current one is.
That would work for me.
Meanwhile, the mainstream media is telling us that polls say over 60% of Americans would support a muslim president. They must have been polling Dearborn, MI.
Or Sharia Law.
The media could have settled this whole thing very quickly if they’d just asked Obama if he had renounced his Muslim faith.
Agreed!!!
Yeah, that’ll happen right after they ask Hillary Clinton what happened to Vince Foster?
He’s all about going, at the end of over-talking the Kraut..he sighs okay! It’s still just your opinion.
How bout just not supporting people who have a religion which advocates killing other people.
I wasn’t a Carson supporter but if he stands strong saying he wouldn’t support a muslim president, he’ll get a lot more of my attention.
I wouldn’t elected a muslim as dog catcher much less as president.
