Two women tried to rob a senior citizen, things turned out poorly for them

An Oregon man was bound by home invaders, but was able to break free and grab his gun, which possibly saved his life. Fox 12 Oregon reported that two women tied the senior citizen to a chair, where they then proceeded to rob him:

One of the suspects, identified as 50-year-old Sheila Clark of Coos Bay, then took off in the man’s Chevrolet Blazer, according to deputies, while the second suspect, 27-year-old Michelle Taylor of Crescent City, California, stayed behind to guard him.

Police located the vehicle at McKay’s Market in Gold Beach and then found Clark in the store. She was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Multnomah County and faces additional charges of robbery, coercion, burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and theft.

In the meantime, investigators said the man who was tied up was able to free himself. He grabbed a handgun and pointed it at Taylor, the sheriff’s office said, and she ran away from the home.

These ladies obviously messed with the wrong guy, who exercised his Second Amendment rights, and was able to protect himself. Fox 12 added that Taylor is still at a large.

There have been other instances where the elderly had to exercise their Second Amendment rights to defend themselves. In Athens, Alabama, three people, one male, two females, were arrested for robbing a 74-year old man last week. AL News reported that a friend of the victim came over to his residence with two women he didn’t know; one of them asked if she could borrow $25. The elderly man did not fork over the money, as he did not know this woman. Later that day, the same two women returned with another man, who wanted to take his clothes line for scrap metal. That’s where the situation turned violent:

The victim said he refused to give it to him, and the male grabbed him around the neck and told him to “tell them where the rest of the money was or he was going to hurt him bad.” The women allegedly started searching his home for his money.

“The victim said he reached inside his pocket and pulled out his pistol and pointed it at the male’s face and pulled the trigger. The victim said the pistol didn’t fire,” Johnson said. “About the same time, one of the females yelled, ‘He’s got a gun,’ and everyone ran out of his residence.”

The victim said that he was missing $320 from the incident.

Given how the elderly are easy targets for such felonious acts by more unscrupulous characters in our society, it shouldn’t shock us that more and more seniors are becoming gun owners.

I’m a little old lady, but the difference is that my gun is always within easy reach.

I didn’t get to be this old without knowing how to defend myself. The Glock has red lasers which I hope would scare off someone before I had to shoot because I would truly hate to have to pull that trigger……...

Not the happy ending I was hoping for, but at least the old guy got out of it.

Crazy that one of the robbers was a 50-year-old woman! We must always be ready to defend ourselves from assorted nut jobs.

Dogs, the right dogs-are the best first line of defence.A German Shepherd or Rottie will scare off most creeps.Or engage the criminal in mortal combat.Buys you time to weapon up.

“We must always be ready to defend ourselves from assorted nut jobs.”

I was talking with someone the other night. There was one where an adult used a young child (his child I’m guessing) to try to lure another child away from their parents. “Hi - I’m Susie - look at this cool toy over here.”

Looks like there are two separate stories here from different states.

I live in rural Texas and absolutely never ever even think about a criminal offense about me when I am out and about or home but it’s quite refreshing to know people like you and your Okie HB are around in case the unbelievable that something sinister could happen in my life.

the second suspect, 27-year-old Michelle Taylor of Crescent City, California

Crescent City, home of one of the worst joints in California, Pelican Bay State Prison. Apparently, it didn't cause her to think twice about doing something stupid. Maybe Oregon joints aren't as scary.

Someone needs to volunteer to clean this man’s pistol and provide him with fresh ammunition.

I hate it when a senior points a gun at someone and lets that someone flee rather than installing a third eye socket in said person’s cranium.

Basic Principle: Never point a gun at someone you are not planning on killing.

Corollary: If you point a gun at a person, squeeze the trigger enough times to drop said person into a pool of blood.

I hope I never have to make that decision, but if I ever do, I hope I can pull it off without hesitation.
