F-22 Raptors deploy to Middle East

HONOLULU, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- An undisclosed number of F-22 Raptors of the Hawaii Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force have been deployed to the Middle East for as long as six months.

The Hawaii Air National Guard, or HIANG, said the deployment of most of the fighters and more than 200 personnel from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam in Honolulu took place Sept. 26 but was kept secret for security considerations.

The aircraft and personnel are now in an unidentified location in the region, which is in the area of responsibility of the U.S. Central Command.

"Because of security considerations and host nation sensitivities, the HIANG will not release the base nor country where the Raptors are operating from, nor will the HIANG release the number of F-22 fighters that are deployed," it said.

Smaller than a bumble-bee RCS.

F-22’s also carry internal JDAMs for A/G.

Limited numbers of jets and JDAMs but precise employment.

187 operational.

Not many, for sure, but Gen 5 capability unmatched by anyone else. Not even close.

But numbers count and because dems killing the original buy of 781, we find the Big Zero relying on limited numbers of jets that his party tried to kill. . .

The F-22 is a ‘knock down the door’ weapon system. . .so. . .if we see F-15E’s moving into the area, then I would be thinking we are really close to something happening. But then again, we can't control the Russians, heck, the Big Zero can't even control his own bowels let alone another country.

“I expect a F-22 to get shot down and russia and china will have a field day with it.”

Not me. They can't see it.

More likely a technical issue causing a mishap, not a loss due to hostile fire.

"It would be Weimer Republic time"

Please line out a logic stream for us, who are less erudite than you, the economic principals that lead to your assertion.

BS. You are FULL of crap thinking that *any* vital interest of the USA is inside the tiny war-torn country of...Syria.

"The physical oil is only part of the equation. The mandatory exchange of US dollars for that oil is the other part. I would argue that it is a bigger part. We don’t need the oil as you stated but, for the padt 40 years, our entire way of life has risen up around the artificial demand for our dollars. All the welfare, the warfare, the medicare, the social security, the interest payments, all of it is supported by an artificial demand for our dollars. Were that demand to go away, so would everything that it supports. It would be Weimer Republic time."

Utter rubbish. First of all, a weak U.S. Dollar benefits the USA. It makes us buy more domestically instead of foreign.

In contrast, a strong U.S. Dollar benefits countries who export goods to the USA. This is how we saved Europe and Japan after WW2, with a strong Dollar to buy their goods.

Second, the USA is an internal economy. Now, you don't know what that means, but I do because I wrote the book on it.

85% of our GDP is domestic. 9% of our GDP is imports. 6% of our GDP is exports.

You could wall off the USA from all foreign trade and we'd take a smaller GDP hit than what we lost from 9/11 and the 2009 recession.

We don't need the rest of the world. We don't benefit from PetroDollars that artificially strengthen the U.S. Dollar which in turn makes imported goods look cheap to U.S. consumers.

...and we certainly aren't impacted by the trivial economy inside the tiny country of Syria.

Syria means NOTHING to the USA. We have no vital interests there, and *you* have no understanding of economics.

Dont underestimate Russian A2A missiles and SAMs they are very good. The F-22 would kill the SU-30’s but the F-22 is not invulnerable.

With a RCS less than a bumble-bee, no SAM can see it. Truly.

No need to post to me because any further communication from you will clearly be pointlessly argumentative and irrationally emotive.

I deal with rational adults so your choices are; a) Yield to your juvenile need for a petulant last word and respond with boring and predictable childish insults, or b) let it go as we have nothing else to say to each other.

I’m betting you choose ‘a.’

Prove me wrong.

More dollars chasing the same amount of goods equals inflation. Should the artificial demand for dollars come to an end, there will be a massive increase in dollars and an equally massive deceease in the demand for them. That equals hyperinflation- Weimar Republic time. The fact that we would also no longer be able to print money to buy oil would also suck I think.

The F-22 can be seen on radar. The Brits seen it and our people see it at red flag. A US F-18 (defeated one in a dogfight, everything is always situational). The Russians will be at a great disadvantage against the F-22 because of low RCS and jamming but it can been seen. They also have IRST on the SU-30’s and the F-22 lets off heat just like any other jet. I love the F-22 and I have played many video (i assume you have as well as the idiotic gaming community thinks stuff like this is invulnerable)games with jets and read many defense forums etc.

The hubris of thinking the F-22 is invincible is to invite disaster. The Russians are not stupid people like the sand people we have fought for 15 years. They have had passive radar for years as well and they have excellent SAM systems. Yes its a great jet but it can be shot down, not to mention intel gathered off its profile while in combat. Which is why we should only use our ace’s when in a truely hot war not Syria.

There is trivial inflation. Maybe deflation.

Inflation would make the USA purchase fewer foreign goods.

To you, that’s a bad thing. Your view is either idiotic or traitorous, your pick.

Any F-22 pilot who follows orders to retaliate against an Israeli attack on Iran can get show down as far as I’m concerned. Follow orders to attack Israel or turn in your wings? TURN IN YOUR WINGS!

Our F-117 stealth fighter over Bosnia got taken down with the help of radio signal triangulation, no?
