Hammonds to serve 5 years in prison [ Oregon ranchers vs BLM ]
Oregon Farm Bureau ^ | October 7, 2015 | Barry Bushue

Posted on 10/09/2015 5:51:15 PM PDT by george76

Today two Oregon ranchers were sentenced to five years in federal prison under terrorism statutes for setting preventative fires on their own land. We are gravely disappointed at this outcome.

“Elderly Harney County rancher Dwight Hammond and his son, Steven, a former OFB Board member and Harney County Farm Bureau president, have already served time in federal prison for their mistakes and paid their debt to society for the less-than-140 acres of BLM land that was accidentally impacted by the fires.

“This is an example of gross government overreach, and the public should be outraged.

“Today’s verdict is also hypocritical given BLM’s own harm to public and private grazing lands, which goes without consequence. It is unjust. OFB worked on this case quietly behind the scenes with BLM through the spring and summer. That diligent diplomatic effort was fruitless.

“This prosecution will have a chilling effect across the West among ranchers, foresters, and others who rely on federal allotments and permits. It will harm the positive relationship many ranchers and organizations have worked to forge with the BLM, and undermine the cooperative spirit most ranchers have brought to the bureau in helping the health of the range.

This is wrong on every level of decency.

These so-called judges and those who are telling them what to do are going to push just a little too hard one day in the not-so-distant future.

They will do this on purpose to force civil war II. They want it so they can come down hard on anyone who cherishes liberty and freedom.

This in NOT what the good American people want but being freedom loving and remembering what those who came before gave and those who have given abroad all these years before; there will be no choice but to resist and make those who started it; pay. I’m talking about the politicians behind the scenes and those are giving them their marching orders.

The pendulum always swings both ways eventually.

Thankfully, we just released a few thousand drug dealers out of prison so we have room for these “Terrorists”.

God, I miss America. :(

Compare this 140 acres to the Chelan Complex or Okanogan Complex fires of WA state (exacerbated by Forest Service policy), and to some CA state fires (can’t feel much sympathy for CA).

A flame in time saves nine.

140 acres accidentally burned?

And Obammie the Commie bombs a hospital and kills 19 and gets away with an, “Shucks, I’m sorry.”

I think the goal of the agent provocateur/community organizer is to get as many millions of Americans to that point as possible.

And then terminate them.

Nothing except the Supremacy Clause of the Constitution and the U.S. Army.

The 10th Amendment came after the Supremacy Clause. If there is a conflict between the 10th Amendment and the Supremacy clause, the 10th Amendment takes precedence.

The Cerro Grande Fire in 2000. The fire started as a controlled burn, and became uncontrolled .. Over 400 families in Los Alamos lost their homes in the 48,000-acre fire. Structures at Los Alamos National Laboratory were also destroyed ...

Two large, recent, Colorado fires also set by government employees got out of hand, killed people, destroyed homes & businesses, etc.

But just remember, the Patriot Act was only temporary, and only for the Real Bad Guys. Like, you know, farmers clearing fields...

You're either with Bush or the Terrorist was the Cult Bush shrill loyalty demanding postings. No one wanted to listen to reason and no one dared question his policies back in the day. GW Bush and the Two house GOP expansions of Executive Branch powers made king {in extreme sarcasm} Obama a reality. They set the precedents. The sad part is there honestly wasn't a nickles worth of difference between the Bush agenda & policies and Obamas.
