California gun-control laws wrench leftward

California’s gun laws are some of the strictest in the U.S., but Gov. Jerry Brown still managed to wrench them tighter over the weekend.

The Democrat signed Senate Bill 707 on Saturday, which expanded a current ban on having firearms within 1,000 feet of a school without permission of administrators. Concealed-carry permit holders no longer have an exemption.

The legislation was introduced by state Sen. Lois Wolk, D-Davis, months ago, and was signed by Brown without comment, the Sacramento Bee reported Saturday.

“California’s college campuses and K-12 schools should be sanctuaries for learning, free from the fear of gun violence,” Peggy McCrum, president of the California Chapters of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, told the Los Angeles Times on Saturday.

So--1,000 feet is about 1/5 of a mile. This would definitely cover private property "owned" by someone else.

What this does now is grant the power of the law to school administrators, who don't even live in the neighborhood, to cover private property of others.

This makes total sense.

Do I need the sarc tag?

So how does this stop some NUTCASE, KILL-CRAZED, over-medicated terrorist from carrying a concealed weapon into a school and killing people??? It does not. This is just more Obama-pandering from the radical, far left that the Kalifornia left-dependent voters keep putting back into office. Captain Moonbeam does another one on the REAL citizens of Kalifornia.

They made every place within 1000 feet of a school a gun-free zone.

How many schools do you drive by, on your way to work?

There is not a hell of a lot of urban real estate that is not within 1000 feet of a school. California has vastly increased the size of the Free Fire zones in the state.

Gun Free Zone signs... yeah stupid alright.

I can see the California senate having a discussion:
“Now, imagine a crazed lunatic on a death wish, with a plan to go into a school and shoot as many kids as possible before he goes out in a blaze of gunfire.
How can we stop this crazed madman from entering the school?”

“I know, we can put up a sign.”

“Brilliant!! Our children are safe from guns. There’s a sign!”

Remember Stockton, 1989? California proposed a gun ban bill so harsh even the lever action Winchester rifles would have been banned. Opposition was so strong the bill was modified and shelved.
Then the State released mental patient Pat Purdy for the seventh time to prey on the public.
He got an AK-47 semi-auto rifle, then LEGALLY bought a handgun passing all California’s back ground and waiting periods.

Then he shot up the Stockton School killing several students and himself.

The shelved gun ban was pulled out and passed so fast most people didn’t even realize it.

NEVER TRUST A POLITICIAN with your gun rights!

The Democrat signed Senate Bill 707 on Saturday, which expanded a current ban on having firearms within 1,000 feet of a school without permission of administrators.

Why not make it 10,000 feet ?...

Make sure you put nice little signs up with lock boxes at 1,000 feet so the insane, criminal, psychopathic killers and mass murderers secure their firearms before entering a school zone...

Can people be even more stupider ...?

“California’s college campuses and K-12 schools should be sanctuaries for learning, free from the fear of gun violence,” Peggy McCrum, president of the California Chapters of the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, told the Los Angeles Times on Saturday.

Because those who bother to go through the hassle and expense of obtaining a concealed weapons permit subsequently are the perpetrators of school gun crime.
