I have always flashed my brights if someone coming towards me had their brights on. I thought it was the normal thing to do. I guess I never did it to a cop.
Judgement: Death by stupidity.
Used to be that kids and young adults would not dare show disrespect for an adult because they knew they would get beat down.
I think the main difference today is that kids are being brought up to indignantly demand their rights and deferential treatment.
I've always said, never engage unless you are equipped and have a plan.
My first thought was the cop did that to himself, maybe with the butt of his gun. I suppose not, but it was my first thought. Guess I don’t trust cops.
Years ago I was driving a car with my young son as a passenger. The traffic went from a highway speed zone of 55 mph to a commercial zone for 30 mph. My young son and I were singing as we slowed to 25 mph. A cop pulled us over and claimed I was driving to slow for the traffic flow especially for him in back of us. I had to take a day off work to go to court. The judge laughed at the cops charge and dismissed the ticket. To this day I have trouble believing that cops are always playing the rules legally and sanely.
Great story, Wardaddy.
As a general rule, I think the philosophy is sound, but of course, as a thinking adult I realize there are always exceptions to any rule.
On the streets as a civilian, I believe a weapon should only be pulled when all else fails (ie; talking, escape, etc...).
That being said, at that critical point in a confrontation, if I pull my weapon, I am definitely thinking about using it.

What I meant by “Huh?” was “What does the word boofus mean?” It’s not a term I’m familiar with, and I always like to pick up a new bit of slang.
Or, if it’s some sort of insult or epithet, then, as the Brits say, same to you with knobs on.
Boofus = both of us. Sort of Southern ebonics.
Thanks. That’s one I had never heard.
There are cops who troll with their high beams.
Looks completely justified to me.
Do you think the cop ever fixed his lights, or is he still pulling people over?
Well said.
Yeah, potheads usually aren’t fighters.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone high on pot be aggressive in any way. Alcohol, yep.
