Washington (CNN)Donald Trump doesn't believe there is enough evidence to blame pro-Russian separatists for last year's downing of a commercial airliner over Ukraine -- despite the fact that the U.S. intelligence community believes "with confidence" that pro-Russian separatists shot it down.
"That's a horrible thing that happened," he said. "It's disgusting and disgraceful but Putin and Russia say they didn't do it, the other side said they did, no one really knows who did it, probably Putin knows who did it. Possibly it was Russia but they are totally denying it."
Trump was responding to a question from CNN noting that the U.S. government assesses that the several points of available evidence all point to Russia.

If he’s saying that POSSIBLY it was a Russian missile - after all the evidence, including a just-finished year-long autopsy by the Dutch - then yes, he IS BEING EXTREMELY NAIVE.
Ronald Reagan had no trouble distinguishing between good guys and bad guys, why does Trump??
This is worrisome, big time. Trump has some explaining to do.
How are Presidential candidates who are not privy to classified intelligence supposed to make a judgment call on matters like this?
Ronald Reagan was president when the US Navy shot down a passenger jet in error in a war zone. So maybe Trump is more Reagan-esque than you think him to be.
They are supposed to talk faux tough and threaten to start WW3 like Lindsssssey - I have to lisp and hisssss when I say his name.
Trump stated in one of his speeches that the media, closer it gets to the nomination, will come out with lies about him and other candidates....
He is always ahead of everything, it’s not hard not believe what he tells us...
This just shows he’s right...AGAIN!!!
what are they? do you have a link so I can see what he says about them?
That is a stupid and unnecessary position to take.
What do you do Putinator (aka ‘Trumpinator’), ping all of your little Putinista friends/shills when you post something?
Among the victims were the President of Poland Lech Kaczynski and his wife Maria, the former President of Poland in exile Ryszard Kaczorowski, the chief of the Polish General Staff and other senior Polish military officers, the president of the National Bank of Poland, Polish Government officials, 18 members of the Polish Parliament, senior members of the Polish clergy and relatives of victims of the Katyn massacre.
The group was arriving from Warsaw to attend an event marking the 70th anniversary of the [Katyn] massacre, which took place not far from Smolensk.

Did Putin Blow Up the Whole Polish Government in 2010?
A Second Look
A plane crash at Smolensk in Russia four years ago wiped out the Warsaw leadership. It used to be seen as an accident. Now, after Putins games in Ukraine, people arent so sure.
Four years ago this week, Polish President Lech Kaczynski was killed in a plane crash near the Katyn Forest in Russia where he was flying to honor the 22,000 Polish officers, lawyers, priests and professors slaughtered there by the Soviets 70 years before. Ninety-five other military, political and public figures including his wife died on that plane. One of the more heartbreaking details to emerge was that First Lady Maria Kaczynskas body could be identified only by her nail polish and the inscription inside her wedding ring.
Less than two years before the crash the late president had given a speech warning that if Russian aggression was not stopped in Georgia, which Russia had invaded, it would extend to Ukraine, the Baltics, and possibly Poland as well. We are here to take up the fight, he said. And many Poles still believe that their president died in the cause of that effort. Physicist Kazimierz Nowaczyk is one of them. ...

Kremlin pays internet trolls to flatter Putin
Ben Hoyle - Moscow
October 11 2013
Russian investigative journalists and bloggers have uncovered an army of internet trolls paid to pour invective on the Kremlins opponents and heap praise on President Putin.
Posing as job applicants, the reporters discovered the government hacks working at a small company called the St Petersburg Internet Research Agency. ...

I guess Trump feels like he has to answer a question like this, but this answer was a mistake. This incident was just another example of Putin's incompetence. Providing those missiles to drunken bums was a really stupid thing to do. And, Putin should have also foreseen that those drunken bums would then loot the crash site.
Hey CNN: not everyone reads only the headline.
I hope Trump mentions this specifically in the next debate.
It wouldn’t have happened if Russia had not been screwing around in the Ukraine.
That's not our only choice.
Very misleading. I saw that interview and Trump just said he was unsure of who was at fault.
You can clearly see I did not ping anyone. But thanks for trolling anyway.
Did Putin Blow Up the Whole Polish Government in 2010? No - confirmed by Polish govt investigative report.
Surely you can't be THAT dumb, or screwed up in the head. You can ping people privately via FReepMail, no? As if you didn't know, or haven't done it before. You can't be honest about anything, can you.
A) I did not ping anyone and B) You are insulting every poster on this article who commented via innuendo. That is not a good personality trait to have.
