Long article here. Summary: U.S. Maj. Gen. Michael K. Nagata, who oversaw the 500 million dollar program to train Syrian rebels, likely will soon be promoted to Lt. Gen. and given a senior job in D.C.
The program was designed to train 15,000 pro-U.S. Syrian rebels. Only five fighters remain (not five thousand, just five).
Note to mods: Body of thread is not an excerpt. I couldn't find a succinct except there, so I summarized.
Damn. Gee, I wonder who promoted him?
And who promoted Bergdahl.
And who promoted the major who shot up Fort Hood.
And who fired the US soldier who protested the Afghan raping boys inside the compound.
The Peter Principle, people rise to the level of their own incompetence
Shows why muzzies hate dogs.
Dogs are more trustworthy and reliable.
How did he fail?
Seems to me, he succeeded with tremendous success for the Ø regime, performing way beyond their expectations.
The “fundamental transformation” has hit our military very, very hard.
Being an Obama loyalist trumps being competent.
I remember what a big deal it was to promote Grant to Lieutenant General since only GW held that rank before. Now they hand out the third star like candy to failures and lap dogs.
Too non-caucasian to fail?
Spends government money like crazy, with negligible benefit?
Sounds like a promotion in Obama’s community-organizer government.
If he supports gays in the military, they’ll make him Chief of Staff.
You remember that? Wow, you must be really old!
Sorry, I couldn’t resist. You’re right though!
NO INCOMPETENCE. None.
I AM NOT INCOMPETENT.
The General was a success. ISIS is pleased - love those new weapons. Obama is pleased. So what’s new?
There was an old saying in the military,”To move up F___up!”
Needless to say, like everything else that comes out of the White House, it was a crap sandwich.
Errrr? He was only obeying the orders of those over him. He’s the fall guy. He had the responsibility to train but he isn’t the blame for the failure. He taught them how to shoot and salute, he didn’t lead them in combat. The failure was at our Wolf’s Lair. Where our Community Organizer directs the military. BTW, what the hell was our Intel. community doing? Did they not detect this program as a gamble?
the other 14,995 joined ISIS and are probably right now setting up base-camps in Germany, Sweden, Austria, etc etc
Bergdahl was automatically promoted by rule.
That he hasn’t been busted down to private yet is the travesty.
ZeroHedge commenters are entertaining...
“Who said he ‘failed’ ? You don’t think his job is actually fighting terrorists, do you ?”
What everybody here is not considering is the incredible super powers these 5 trained troops have been given. Just wait until this squad of “100 million dollar men” goes into action. It will be game over for both Assad and ISIS!
