Salon Wants Gun Owners Shot

Obviously I'm lost because this Salon Metrosexual hasn't a clue.

Ignore the pathology of wishing to shoot people with whom he disagrees. Focus on the idea of gun control.

First, if rules could make it so...if those inclined to break the law could be stopped by saying "Stop!" then why do criminals carry guns into "gun free zones?" Why are they criminals at all?

Or maybe it's the availability of guns that's the issue...if so, why is there any gun violence in Chicago proper? That's a "gun free zone."

Oh, the guns are brought into Chicago from other places, they say...if that's the case, why is crime not higher in Greater Cook County, outside of the Chicago City limits? Or Indiana and Mississippi, the other major sources of guns? By definition, guns are much more available there. Why do the guns which do not cause shootings in Mississippi, become violent as they cross the border? Do the guns become evil as they cross the border?

Is it more of the "zero tolerance" mentality we see in schools, where government agents possess no even small degree of judgment? Or like the airport, where grandma has to be frisked while burka clad Muslims cruise through? Since they cannot (or will not) exercise judgment, the only option (seemingly) is to treat everyone like a criminal.

Or is it that liberals don't like people who don't do as they are told by their "betters?" Is it that an armed citizenry cannot be controlled?

I guess the only logical answer is..."Because America, and f#&k you."
