The American consumer resists marketing aimed at selling them electric and hybrid vehicles. For the first quarter of 2015, according to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), Chevrolet sold 1,874 Volts—its electric car introduced in 2010 with “high expectations.” That roughly equals the number of Silverado pick-up trucks sold in one day.

In another report, WSJ states: “Through June, the market share in the U.S. for hybrid electric cars such as the Toyota Prius and C-Max and for electric vehicles such as the Leaf accounted for 2.8% of industry sales. That is down from 3.6% through the same period in 2014. Volumes of those vehicles fell 22% while overall industry volumes rose, according to researcher Edmunds.com.”

Not to mention the huge tax breaks elon got from NV to build his battery plant near Reno. I see plenty of "zero emissions" vehicles around town and even better, most of the casinos have fessed up with plug in stations for them. Still haven't seen any free gasoline pumps for the other patrons yet. Is that discriminatory or just a message to "doubters".

Yes, just think we no longer have cheap incandescent light bulbs, we all have to buy the expensive Curly-Fry Compact fluorescent types, or even now more expensive LED types. Thank you for the regulations, Big Brother............................

Nevada must be on board with Tesla, because I saw a charging station with several bays at the Chevron station right off the freeway in Winnemucca. This was back in September.

Oh yeah. Our rino gov ponied up big tax incentives to “intice” elon to build his battery plant between Reno and Fernley. Project is underway. Of course it will be a zero emissions place. Well, if you don’t count all the hazardous stuff used to actually make the batteries and produce the materials needed in their manufacture. Other than that, yeah, zer-OH emissions. Well except for the lubricants and......... Well, you get it.

Not only only that, but when one of these curly-fry lights breaks, you have to bring in a haz-mat team for clean up. Not only a neighborhood status symbol, but a great make-work project for these clean up people!

What's not to like???
