Angle is the Democrats’ Golden Ticket to winning every office she runs for. She’s a perennial loser and toxic as hell.
Ludicrous. Reid didn’t have to steal the race. It was lost as soon as she was nominated. The most unpopular and toxic Republican in Nevada.
Wrong. Beating Reid was a top priority of the Republican party. She was an awful candidate who ran and awful race and that’s why she lost, those of us that were aware of her before she proclaimed herself queen of the tea party and became a “star” (she lost a congressional primary in 2006 and then whined demanding a REVOTE) warned Nevada freepers not to nominate her.
Just because someone is a “conservative” doesn’t mean they are immune from being a putrid candidate.
>> Sharron Angle is the legitimate senator from Nevada, but Harry Reid stole her seat with massive vote fraud. She was significantly ahead in the polls going into the election. <<
Marty: How the hell could Sharon Angle be considered a GOOD Senate candidate, Doc? I mean her last Senate race was a disaster and a textbook example of how NOT to run a campaign!
Doc: The only possible explanation is we've arrived in some utterly bizarre ALTERNATE 2015, Marty! In this timeline, history unfolded DIFFERENTLY! The Cubs were the NBL's best team and World Series champs, Newt Gingrich did an awesome job destroying Clinton in the 90s but was removed as Speaker in a RINO lead coup, and Sharon Angle was an amazing candidate who kicked Harry Reid's butt in 2010!
Marty: Whoa Doc, this is heavy.
Brilliant!
Sharron Engle was 7 points ahead of Reid on election eve. I saw dozens of bumper stickers for Sharron and many signs; nothing for Reid. You had to look high and low to find someone who wanted Reid.
Oh, and by the way, Reid's campaign was financed by large out-of-state donors, Sharron's by individuals living in Nevada. Reid had far more money than Sharron.
The fraud was massive, casino workers being pulled off the job, bussed to the polls by the busload, many of them not citizens, not registered, voting more than once.
Votes being bought from college kids for $25 Starbucks card. There were mysterious power outages in polling places about the state that lasted for several hours, strange things happening to voting machines, my machine failed twice when I cast my ballot, and finally one of the elections officers did something to the machine so that supposedly my vote was cast, but I walked away that day quite concerned that my vote was changed, and I heard from lots of other people who had the same experience.
Look at the size of the loss by Rory Reid, Sandoval won in a landslide, that should give you an idea of how badly Reid actually lost!
And I would like to point out, Sharron was a seasoned politician and had served in the state legislature, she knew how to run a successful campaign, but she was not given the party support that she should have gotten She did not run unopposed in the primary, her campaign was better than the others; she did not suggest that patients pay their doctor bills with chickens!
By way, I voted for Brian Kerlicki in the primary, he was my preferred candidate, and I thought the democrats (Reid) had smeared him horribly when he ran for secretary of state, and lost, and that he was a good guy. But I think Sharron was “Palinized” and she was a good candidate, and would have been an excellent conservative voice in the Senate.
No Sharron Engle is not looney, she is just very conservative. Harry Reid is the master of the smear. All he had to do was to get enough people to vote “none of the above,” and with his out of state money and massive fraud, he was able to “win.”
She would have been an infinitely better Senator than Reid, and she did defeat the other two candidates in the primary. At least she did not suggest we pay our doctor bills with chickens. Far better to have one more Republican in the Senate, a backbencher, than to return Harry Reid.
Of course.
she did defeat the other two candidates in the primary.
She won the primary by tossing out buckets of red meat and it's a shame cause either of them other 2 would have beaten Reid. She failed and she'll fail again against Reid's latina lapdog Castro if Nevada Republicans repeat their mistake and nominate her again, it's preposterous to see her have any support at all, she should never run for office again. Heck would be favored in November. If NV freepers think he's not conservative enough I'd suggest finding an electable alternative, not Angle. Nominate Angle and you'll get Reid's dog.
My residency is irrelevant. That was a key Senate race I was following. When I saw two-time loser (again, she did NOT know how to run a successful race, not in a decade) and nut Sharron Angle (whom I endorsed when she ran for Congress in 2006 before she made outrageous claims of voter fraud and demanded a do-over, demonstrating she was not ready for prime time) enter the race, I thought folks would be smart enough to see she couldn’t win a general election given her record.
She bamboozled enough well-meaning folks that she could win, when I and others knew based on her electoral history of failure. I don’t know where you’re seeing polling data that had her ahead of Reid right before the election. Reid WANTED her to be nominated because he knew he wouldn’t have to roll out the SEIU fraud machine in Clark County to save his ass.
Keep in mind in that same race Reid’s son was the Gubernatorial nominee. If Dingy practiced the level of voter fraud as claimed by some of Angle’s die-hards, Brian Sandoval would’ve lost.
Dingy was the one of the most unpopular elected officials in Nevada and a ficus plant could’ve beaten him in 2010 running as a Republican — but there happened to be one candidate who was more unpopular. I call it the “Katherine Harris” syndrome. All these folks in FL insisting Harris, a highly unpopular and polarizing figure (regardless of her heroism in 2000) could beat a similarly unpopular incumbent Dem Senator in Bill Nelson. I said she would lose handily if nominated, and I was proven right. It wasn’t even a close race, it was a fiasco.
What I’m saying here is that this race was set from the moment Angle was nominated (fresh off losing to Dean Heller AND the infamous elderly RINO State Sen. William Raggio in 2008). Dingy Reid didn’t have to lift a finger. His union thugs didn’t have to lift a finger. The fix was in and as long as she remained in the race (it didn’t matter if she beat him in a debate), she was a guaranteed loser.
Angle has, since 2010, threatened to run and throw other races to the Democrats if the GOP didn’t nominate her (she did so in the special election for Heller’s vacant seat) and is now doing precisely the same thing to try to hand Reid’s meatpuppet Cortez-Matso (sic) the seat.
I wanted Lt Gov. Brian Krolicki to run in 2010 (BTW, you said you voted for him, how did you do that when he didn’t run for the Senate ?), because I knew he was the candidate Reid feared the most. Krolicki, in sharp contrast to Angle, WON every race he ran for.
Angle was painted as a loon before Harry Reid ever went after her. Sue Lowden uncovered Sharron’s push for massages and saunas in prison.
And, yes, I agree that Harry would have lost if not for all the voter fraud.
I just believe conservatives should have a better candidate to get behind than Angle.
BTW, what was quite telling was the difference in voting for Sandoval vs. Angle. In Clark County, she lost by 13% to Dingy but Sandoval beat Rory by 48.6%-46.96%. Rory got 217,000 votes, Dingy got 254,000.
Now, she might’ve survived any chicanery in Clark, but what killed her was where the people knew her most well... in her home county of Washoe. She LOST Washoe/Reno. Sandoval carried Washoe handily, by over 20%(!), 57-37%, but Angle lost 44.8-49.9%. The total number of votes in both races was virtually the same, so no wide disparity that would indicate open fraud. Sandoval got over 81,000 votes in Washoe, Angle got over 63,000. That means 18,000 Sandoval voters swung to Dingy.
Also, BTW, I was incorrect when I said polls showed she was losing - you were correct - but the polling indicated a narrow plurality win with a Dem pollster, PPP (specifically the 10/9/2010 poll), indicating she would indeed lose and by close to the margin indicated. They oversampled GOP support by a few points and understated Dem support in this race. Reid did narrowly top 50% overall.

It was my sincere belief that the polls were wrong in 2010, and I was right, they were.
Also, to prove that there was indeed a GOP bias to the polls, those same polls indicating a narrow win for Angle showed a much larger victory for Sandoval (predicting he’d win 56-39% when it ended up being 53-41.6%), a nearly 3% skew. The Angle victory was supposed to be 48%, she got 44.6%.

There’s always some fraud, especially in Nevada. If Reid had won by a point or 2 you could say fraud was the difference, it was clearly much more than the difference in 1998 when he beat Ensign by a half of a nose. He beat Angle by nearly 6 points. Fraud isn’t magic, or else the dems would never lose.
Too often it’s used by freepers as an excuse for bad candidates, both conservative and RINO, people claim Romney lost due to fraud, I say Florida was the only state were it was clearly the difference, he lost cause he was a lousy candidate.
angle is going nowhere next year. angle won the 2Ã1Ã primary because club for growth and freedom works poured money on her behalf. this time around, angle is not getting their money.
