GOP tries to head off Angle Senate bid [NV]
Politico ^ | 10/26/2015 | BURGESS EVERETT and ELENA SCHNEIDER

Republicans have had enough of Sharron Angle, the one-time Senate hopeful who crashed and burned against then-Majority Leader Harry Reid in 2010. And now the GOP in Nevada and Washington is trying to chase her out of another campaign that could again jeopardize the party's chances of capturing Reid's Senate seat.

Angle’s very public flirtation with a primary bid against Rep. Joe Heck, the party favorite to take on Democrat Catherine Cortez Masto, is reviving Democratic dreams and Republican nightmares from the 2010 election. Angle — along with lackluster candidates Christine O’Donnell and Ken Buck — blew a winnable race for the GOP, and her name still causes eyerolls among Republicans of all stripes.

And now that Republicans finally control the Senate, they aren’t about to let Angle screw things up.

"[Heck] can win. It is about winning elections after all,” said Texas Senate Majority Whip John Cornyn, who chaired the National Republican Senatorial Committee during Angle’s run. Angle “had a shot and has been unsuccessful. So my money is with him.”

Officially, the NRSC does not take a position in open-seat primaries.

Joe Miller and Chris McDaniel disagree.

Sharron Angle almost beat Harry Reid.

Conservatives need to rally to her candidacy.

The Establishment candidate is Heck, another RINO.

We have enough of them already.

I'm sure that a lack of party support had nothing to do with the defeat...

NO WAY!!! She is loony.

There has to be a better candidate. Harry was weak but he still managed to beat her. No way I would want her to run.

And Christine O’Donnell. Rove and the gOpee intentionally sabotaged her and overtly assisted the democrat win.

Harry Reid and the unions controlled the ballot boxes. It may not have mattered what the gOpee did.

Maybe us Texans will do the country a favor and not return Cornyn to the senate next time around.

“Heck is another lukewarm conservative.”

So why the “heck” does Nevada elect a guy who’s from Queens, NY? Angle was, and still is” a nutcake, seems like Nevada could come up with a better choice!
When Angle was in the Nevada Legislature, she drove everyone crazy!

Sharron Angle is the legitimate senator from Nevada, but Harry Reid stole her seat with massive vote fraud. She was significantly ahead in the polls going into the election. Sharron could win this if something is done about voter fraud, and frankly despite her one or two small idiosyncracies (she does not think fluoride should be added to drinking water) she would be a fine senator, a true conservative, not a RINO. I for one would happily vote for Sharron again.

I share your pain. I am not pleased with Sandoval at all, especially his ruling against the Nevada Constitution 3/4-requirement to raise taxes when he was chief justice of the supreme court. The RINOs have really taken over this party. It infuriates me they did nothing about the massive vote fraud that put Reid back in the senate, and allowed Sharron Angle to be perceived as a nut, which she is not. She is just very very conservative, very pro constitution. Besides, just where does a Mormon, like Harry Reid, get off criticizing anyone for their “nutty” beliefs anyway?

...despite her one or two small idiosyncracies (she does not think fluoride should be added to drinking water)...

What pray tell, is wrong about that stance of Angle's? Fluoride in any way, shape or form is Poison.

Putting fluoride in drinking water is a national disgrace! The Nazi's put fluoride in the drinking water in the concentration camps to make the Jews docile. Look at the pics of the docile Jews lined up going to what they probably knew was certain death in the gas chambers. Putting fluorides in our water is as evil as putting in the Jew's water!

And btw, before you go off on the but it prevents tooth decay rant, that is a lie. Magnesium prevents tooth decay, not fluoride.

I could not disagree more. It had a lot to do with her defeat.

What about Angle’s support for massages and sauna’s for prisoners? That sounds pretty nutty.

Is there any State that has a majority of conscientious conservative politicians, judges, and sheriffs who are honest and respect the common Man/Woman?
