CNBC Disaster Debate: Full Republican Debate Grades
The Daily Wire ^ | 10/28/2015 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 10/29/2015 4:24:33 AM PDT by grimalkin

In what had to rank as the worst presidential debate in modern history, CNBC anchors berated, cut off, and skewed the words of Republican candidates over the course of two hours on Wednesday night. In spite of - and in the case of Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Chris Christie, among others, because of - that horrifically biased moderation, Republicans emerged looking better for wear. They needed to show they had elbows, and many of them did.

Without further ado, here are the debate grades.

“The network was so awful that even Reince Priebus had to condemn them.”

The RNC needs to stop allowing Leftists to moderate Republican candidate forums. This has been obvious for a long, long time, and yet the powers that be just don’t seem to get it.

I wonder how many people watched this debate. I bet a lot.

Not me. I watched the World Series and am glad I did!

What did the Republicans expect?

Why did they agree to participate in such a "debate" under the influence of such "moderators"?

Didn't they know that the entire event would be a Leftist propaganda extravaganza very much like Hitler's Nazi propaganda events back in the 1930s?

...'Shouty McScreamypants'...

If that label sticks, Kasich may sink below Bush.

I watched as much as I could...then went to the thread on here...the thing I liked was how all the candidates took down the press...

Some have been saying that Trump is to soft skinned when it comes to the press, guess last night proved him right once again..

Bush was beyond horrible...and to think his ‘campaign event’ was right next door to his ‘super pac event’ wasn't planned, I have the Brooklyn Bridge to sell them...which by the way, he broke an FEC law....candidates and campaign super pacs are not to connect in any way....wonder if he'll get away with that one?

Trump did great, as always, and I can't wait to hear all the news about what went on....

GO TRUMP!!!

Another good moment, forgot whom it was, but they hammered the media about taking a Cancklebeast victory lap after the hearing. While failing to mention she was proven a liar in said hearings.

To underestimate Rubio is not a real good idea.

Yes. If Bush has been right about anything it was his calling Rubio the GOP's obama. Rubio's young, handsome and articulate, with a compelling personal story. He's also lazy, financially irresponsible, inattentive to his duties, inexperienced in the real world and, in his mind...the smartest guy in whatever room he happens to be in. Sound like anyone we know and despise?

Regardless of what he says, Rubio’s biggest flaw is his backing of amnesty, which he now carefully trods around in every debate. Notice, no one asked him why does your current immigration position differ from yours from last year. He will become the darling of the GOPe from here out.

Frankly Trump looked a tad dazed...not sure if that is his new low key approach. Worries me that he cannot spout direct points. I want him to win because I would pay money to see him square off against the Hitlery.

Carson, looks like he is reaching for answers most of the time. Nice guy would make a good HHS or surgeon general but Hitlery would walk over him on issues I feel.

Cruz, I want to see what he does with any filibuster today. Actions speak volumes. If he does not support Paul’s filibuster, he is not serious even though it will lose. Sometimes you have to show up for the “show votes”. Same for Rubio.

Bush, Carly (my wife said her head bobbing drove her craxy), the Huck, Paul, Crispy, Karzyich, should save money for their fans. BTW, Crispy might make a good AGen.

The game is now on between the real candidates and the fodder. I don’t think anyone is going to drop out but the networks need to relegate more to the junior table keeping:

Trump, Carson, Rubio, Cruz, and at least one more GOPe to foil with Rubio.

Shapiro had it pretty much nailed except I would have given Fiorina a lower grade. After watching her run against Boxer in CA I have a visceral reaction to her and to her bizarre notion she should be president.

When Rubio speaks I get brain freeze. His intense sincerity leaves me feeling queasy. He would get a C from me, if for no other reason than his ears are too large.

Next time I hope the frontrunners demand some informed Conservative journalists are on the panel—and I don’t mean Hugh Hewitt.

That “debate” (a word I used highly advisedly, to quote a well-known British English expression) may have done a huge disservice to the Hillary Clinton campaign because it effectively exposed once and for all how the MSM shills for Hillary. As such, the MSM has been put on the serious defensive to Hillary’s detriment.

Cruz will support Paul’s filibuster and more appropriately than Paul supported Cruz’s filibuster.

It was actually much harder to watch than the other debates - that is, simply to see it. Many people no longer get basic TV and unless your service provider had paid CNBC to carry it, you couldn’t get it on any of the normal streaming services. Several people put up feeds but they were taken down almost immediately by “CNBC copyright” patrols.

I think the guy is wrong about Trump lying. Trump has consistently supported legal immigration and has also consistently said, and said earlier in the debate, that we shouldn’t be graduating PhDs and then sending the away.

I disagree with him on that, but the Zuckerman(?) comment was about displacing American workers FALSELY with H1Bs.

You might recall that Rubio changed and/or expanded on his actual position on that tonight, i.e., that companies be required to advertise for 180 days and that they cannot offer a lesser wage.

Shapiro is spot on. I love that he called Kasich, Mr. Shouty McScreamypants.

Finally, someone gives Cruz the credit he deserves. I know we expect it of Shapiro but it's still nice to hear.

Best attack line of the debate: ex-Arkansas Gov Huckabee saying
"I took on the Clintons and the Clinton machine...and I'm still alive."

If that isn't a good title for a book, I don't know what is....
and I hope it comes out BEFORE the general election.

===========================================

The uber-liberal debate moderators copped the same smug-superior attitude as Hillary did...at the Benghazi hearings. These self-satisfied Demoncrat types despise Republicans---especially conservative Republicans----and have no compunction about showing it full-face.

It's so obvious that Jebby doesn't belong up on the stage in either debate. He truly looks like he's just not all 'there'.

I think Jindal and Graham looked better than Bush. He sincerely looks lost.

I’m critical of assigning the label “disaster,” unless one is concerned with CNBC’s image. The candidates prevailed over the blatant bias. I see that as success. I think the candidates have quickly learned the ropes and have a sort of unscripted synergy working for them against a common enemy, the press.

Thanks for the realtime report.

say things that make them "feel good" about themselves.
