âWe have $19 trillion in debt, we have people out of work, we have ISIS and al-Qaeda attacking us and weâre talking about fantasy football?â Christie asked. âCan we stop?â
Even one of Christieâs GOP opponents, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), couldnât help but applaud the rebuttal.
Instead, Christie argued, candidates should be focused on securing the border, protecting Americans and supporting âAmerican values and families.â
âEnough on fantasy football â let people play! Who cares?â he added.

LOL- Cruz, knowing that Bush has cratered, understands that Rubio is now the GOP-e frontrunner. Cruz needs Christie to catch fire, so Marco doesn't try to veer right into the Cruzing lane.
Cruz- thinking and strategizing 24/7.
DEBATE WINNER(s): Cruz, Trump, Carson, Rubio, Christie
DEBATE LOSER (s): CNBC mods, The media, Jeb Bush, Kasich, Hillary, Carly
DEBATE NON STARTERS: Huck, Paul,
Fantasy Football Czar Jeb!
Bush was still playing the MSM game, when the rest of the pack had charged away.
What a great picture of why we need to get ride of the GOP establishment.
Yeb needs a fantasy Republican primary process.
JEB!...LEAVE!
I almost feel bad for Bush..almost.
I would have to disagree with one assessment....Carson. He was sleepy and Unsteady save one response.
George W was good at it. Jeb has it down to an art. Get out of the campaign you stupid jerk!
Did Jeb stand on his tippy toes for the group photo again?
I wish I had the life where all my problems were removed and fantasy football finally topped the priority list giving me the time to decide whether I care or don’t care about it.
That would be a great life.
Agreed, but I think by not hurting himself (like Jeb et al)and given his poll numbers he still is in the win category.
You are 100% correct. Jeb’s answer shows how out of touch he is with politics in 2015. Jeb launches into the 1996 version of a response. Some sanitized bull$hit to appeal to everyone. “Yes there needs to be some form of oversight, but I’m personally opposed to it”. Christie (my governor who I actually can’t stand), rightly smacked Jeb down and called him out for the programmed lightweight that he is...Jeb is a total embarrassment to his family...Actually, he’s a lot like his father in that regard...HW was and is a wuss..W, for all his faults, at least fought like hell to get elected and was a great retail politician...Not such a great president, but light years ahead of Jebbers...
Agree, except I don’t know how Carson was a winner. He was flatter than a pancake.
So far, Cruz has been the most respectful of the other candidates. I like Cruz and would not be unhappy if he is the candidate.
guess there is no cure for hoof and mouth disease. Momma tried........
wouldn't you have liked to be a fly on the wall at the Bush home last night? I know that is a cruel thought, but still......I can't HEP it. Momma place that call now, save yourself the pain, he just ain't right in the head.
If we were voting for Attorney General, I’d vote for Christie in a New Jersey minute. Otherwise...no.
They had to be banging their heads on the wall!!!!
I wonder if Iowans noticed that Carson changed his position on subsidies in this debate. No more corn crack for Iowa farmers.
I loved Christie’s response. Ugh!!! I can’t believe that I use the words loved and Christie in the same sentence. I will immediately go wash my typing fingers. They feel dirty.
