The verdict is in: Republican insiders tell Jeb to quit now after debate disaster
Daily Mail ^ | 10/29/2015 | J. TAYLOR RUSHING

The man who once led the Republican race for president is now being urged to leave it altogether. Jeb Bush, perhaps the GOP presidential candidate who most needed a convincing win in Wednesday's third primary debate, didn't get it - and on Thursday was subjected to a growing chorus of criticism from political insiders who say he should bow out of the race.

Only Monday, Bush had hosted a two-day summit at a Houston hotel to reassure supporters, with his brother, former President George W. Bush, and father, George H.W. Bush, on hand to lend their star power. But after struggling for speaking time, landing few if any punches and failing to dominate any part of the national debate on CNBC, political pundits from both parties have begun writing the obituary for his lackluster campaign, according to Politico.

'This was the debate where Jeb Bush sealed the deal and began transitioning to “former presidential candidate," ' conservative commentator Erick Erickson told the political magazine.

'He needs to accept reality: there is no Bush 45 next year,' said Paul Goldman, former chairman of the Virginia Democratic Party.

'Bush was the clear loser,' added Matt Lewis, a senior contributor for The Daily Caller. 'Bush has now moved from the point where he was merely floundering, and entered territory where he might do long-term damage to his legacy.'

'The patience of the people backing Bush is not endless,’ opined Seth Masket, chair of the Department of Political Science at the University of Denver.

'Jeb Bush needs to think long and hard about his campaign. He needed to perform this evening and fell far short,' said Douglas Schoen, a former pollster for President Bill Clinton.

Yeb! never led the GOP race.
He led the race to erase our borders and sovreignty, but the Joyful Tippy-toes Disrupter Tortoise isn’t getting elected.

Assuming he does it, this is a promising development. Instead of the candidates dropping off in order of their conservatism like in 2008, the RINO's are dropping out first. That augurs well.

Jeb hadn’t “led” since The Donald announced.

A consolidated Establishment/RINO vote (behind Rubio) and a fractured conservative vote (spread among Trump, Cruz, and, for the misguided—Carson and Carly) is not a particularly good thing.

A candidate named Bush may drop out before the Iowa caucuses. Who’d have thought this would ever happen?

The idea of Zheb “leading” anything except preemptive surrender reminds me of the old joke about the French army being out of business because the white-flag factory burned down.

LEGACY?!?! WHAT 'legacy'?

The only legacy Jebuardo has is the blood of an innocent woman on his hands due to his congenital 'no-spine' condition:

Granted, but I think the outsiders (Trump, Carson, and Carly) may be about to peak and start running out of gas, and Cruz can kick Rubio’s ass one-on-one.

I agree. I hope Jeb stays in. I think his supporters will go to Rubio and that could spell disaster. Then again, how much support does he really have?

I don’t have that same confidence in Cruz’s breadth of appeal—which is why I want to see him drawn in as Trump’s veep.

Jeb thought he was going to be the GOP version of Hillary and get coronated.
