I'm as shocked as you are.

In the middle of the CNBC-hosted GOP debate on Wednesday, RNC chief strategist and spokesman Sean Spicer and chief of staff Katie Walsh approached CNBC officials. According to a source familiar with the encounter, the two had a complaint: Jeb Bush wasn't getting enough questions.

The same complaint had come from Bush campaign manager Danny Diaz, though Bush spokesperson Tim Miller said he was not aware of the encounter between the RNC officials and CNBC. The source familiar with the encounter said Spicer and Walsh did not bring up any other candidates.

Spicer did not respond to a request for comment about the encounter.

Update: Well, well. Politico has suddenly changed its story. The above passage now reads this way:

In the middle of the CNBC-hosted GOP debate on Wednesday, RNC chief strategist and spokesman Sean Spicer and chief of staff Katie Walsh approached CNBC officials about the amount of speaking time candidates were getting.

"Several campaigns had a concern about time allotments, we approached CNBC on multiple occasions to give us a read out of times as they promised and they refused," Spicer said in a statement.

The same complaint had come from Bush campaign manager Danny Diaz, who confronted CNBC producers during the debate about Bush's speaking time.

He couldn’t handle the two he got. They should be grateful to CNBC.

He got too many. Nobody cares what Jeb has to say. His answers are always Jebberish.

Because he did so great on the fantasy football question?

Well, didn't he?

Rest assured that their reassessment of the debate schedule will result in... nothing.

Grateful, indeed. Jeb shares with Hillary the “familiarity breeds contempt” syndrome. The more they talk, the worse their ratings perform.

So even with special treatment and sweated palm-hand holding. Jeb could even get to First Base before he struck out.
The moderators were biased, but at the same time, this is TV. It’s up to the candidate to make their responses memorable in one way or another. Mumbling, waffling and whiffing do not make good TV and will quickly lose the audience.

Chris Christie had to answer the question that Jeb blew. I mean, that should have been easy. The man can’t think on his feet.

‘Rest assured that their reassessment of the debate schedule will result in... nothing.’

It’s been taken out of the RNC’s hands. Trump, Carson, Jindal and Graham are organizing a rebellion. Five more candidates have signed up so far. They meet Sunday to hammer out their demands. Priebus is running scared.

Poor JEB! Had spent days memorizing that confrontation with Rubio. and his handlers were afraid he wouldn’t get to fire his campaign-saving salvo. The moderators acquiesced and called on him, whereupon he timed it very poorly and shot himself in the groin. JEB should get on with pursuing all the “cool things” he says he could be doing instead of running for the presidency.

Imagine what a three hour debate would have looked like ... crap sandwich to total sh!t show.

Coming off the “Jeb Celebration” in Houston last weekend, it was ripe for the RNC/GOP-e and backer$ to see Jeb move up in the polls.

Rinse Repeat is a total tool.

When the GOP E only has one dog in the race, they got to back their dog, even if their dog is legs up on the side of the track.

I’m hopeful. But they have to go all-in. No compromise position with the RNC.

This can be the first step in a RINO purge.

I’m hopeful too. Between them, Trump and Carson have a lot of clout. Rubio and Fiorina are signed up too, and the organizers are working at getting the rest of the candidates on board. (They have nine so far.) Depending on the final count, they may be able to write their ticket.

Trump is a good negotiator, if it comes to that. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Should have been, ‘write their own ticket.’

"Chris Christie had to answer the question that Jeb blew."

Moderator: Mr Bush, is it true that you blow?

Christie: It's true. This man blows.
