My family has been watching the old “Little House on the Prairie” episodes. Recently we saw one that involved a trio of such bullying envelope-pushers - vicious and abusive, but nobody could quite nail them for something legally actionable (either it was barely legal, or the victims were intimidated). Lacking a local sheriff et al, the townsfolk eventually surrounded them and made clear they _would_ go however far it would take to stop them, and leaving town was the thugs’ only viable survivable option.

Nowadays the thugs would have filed suit for intimidation & abuse, and get the key players arrested for pushing back (which, as I noted prior, would be going just barely outside the law).

I always remember that famous case where one man literally terrorized a whole town. I’m not particularly for vigilante justice in a civilized world, but I don’t blame that town for what they felt like they had to do.

The core problem is such people _know_ nobody else is willing to go _that_ far, and they cower under the fear that he will - and that the government will side against them should they call his bluff.

Mine haven’t gone in, but society makes it VERY hard not to sent ‘em there. A good private school is crushingly expensive, and home-schooling (if the teaching parent can even bear the load) likewise destroys net income potential. Both parents must be absolutely committed to the non-public-school path, and it’s very hard if only one is.

Some Muslims, some blacks, and other groups use loudness, accusation, and intimidation to get away with things and further their agendas...whether personal or of a broader scope. The more they get away with, the more they push. You see it in the schools. You see it with the BLM movement. You see it with radical gays.

Then there are men like Ben Carson who came out of the Detroit ghetto to become a world class doctor...

I know this much, we’re NOT doing ghetto kids a favor by keeping violent pre-criminals in the school system. If the thugs hate being there, they’re better off on the street until they have a change of heart. Allow the kids who want to learn to be in a safe environment.

it’s so obvious from the video that the SRO flipped the desk, not the girl as many here and elsewhere have claimed.

I believe the officer was way out of line, way over the top aggressive and used force well beyond what was called for in this instance.

I still believe my lying eyes, though I do appreciate the guy’s right to his point of view in the video link you provided.

The video though is too brutal. The cop was too brutal

I thought it was just about right. He flipped the kid in the desk and dragged her out of the classroom. I don't recall the student being struck in such a way as to injure her. Probably just frightened her and the rest of the students. If you act like a fool you get treated like a fool.

Why yes I do know how the process works. It’s automatic. All tests results for all test centers undergo statistical scrutiny. It’s just good business to have processes in place that protect the integrity of test results. Without such assurance ETS would quickly lose its customers. In this instance the integrity of the teacher, and the students as well, were protected and validated. A happy ending verifying the students are the real deal educated by a real teacher and without the cloud of affirmative action gifting unearned results. Thanks for listening.

>>>> If the critics are right, ..... then the answer is not to prevent charter schools from expelling such students, but to allow other public schools to remove such students, when other students can benefit from getting a better education without them around......<<<<

Sowell made the assumption that these critics of charter schools really DO want to educate students. In fact these critics are only interested in getting more of the gubmint dough for themselves.

Students/children/minorities/women/whatever are just the vehicles for their means.

“The cop was too brutal”

Screw that. He should have beat her with his fists until her face looked like hamburger, then taken her to jail for more beating. And that should happen to every slum puke who disrupt a classroom.

Remember Jaime Escalante in Los Angeles? He took ghetto kids, and taught them enough math to beat the Advanced Placement scores of Beverly Hills high school. The leftists at ETS in Princeton, NJ, AND the unions tried to destroy him. Nothing has changed in 35 years.

I did not know about her accomplishment. Did she leave a blue print?

Black children are misbehaving a lot worse now than they were 35 years ago. I think they would do well in schools modeled after military schools beginning in the sixth grade, focused on the basics of reading, writing and math. Even boarding schools should be considered to remove them from the ghetto and it’s culture of death.

These schools would have to be monitored by cameras and layers of management inside and outside the schools because it would be a venue for sexual abuse and physical abuse run by the same idiots from the ghetto if we were not careful and vigilant. Punishment in the ghetto is male on male rape and viscous beatings. They could be charter schools.

Socialist racist studies totally robs a black child of freedom; putting them in the chains and rage of the past and it also teaches racism (racial superiority) against all others (especially whites and America) which is an aggressive and losing attitude. It’s child abuse. So not liberal hate studies. Use secular Christian-American based ethics and morals and just and loving leadership.
