DES MOINES, Iowa - GOP presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 97% said with the flat tax plan that he supports, the IRS can be abolished, and America can put those 90,000 IRS employees to work down at the Southern Border. "We need to padlock that building. Take all 90,000 and move them down on the southern border," Cruz said of the employees currently working at the IRS building. "Imagine if you traveled thousands of miles in the blazing sun, youâre swimming across the Rio Grande, and the first thing you see is 90,000 IRS agents; you'd turn around and go home, too!" Cruz addressed Iowa voters at the Iowa GOP Growth and Opportunity Party event at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa, Saturday, along with nine other GOP presidential candidates. He said he believes in the simple flat tax. "The simple flat tax says for every American-every individual, a family of four-the first $36,000 of income you earn, you pay zero," he explained. "All taxes on the first $36,000 are zero," he repeated. "Above $36,000 dollars, everyone pays a simple flat tax of 10 percent." "It's simple, and it's fair," he added, stating that more words are in the IRS tax code than in the Bible.

Those pencil pushers would really lock the southern desert border down tight!
Set their desks up, with pencils, at regular intervals on the trails coyotes are known to use to smuggle migrants. Give them a sidearm & grab some popcorn.
Except it’s not gonna happen....
Well, Somebody’s gotta process those deportations!
Cruz’s tax plan is the best of any candidate. Investors Business Daily said it would be a big boost to our economy, on many levels.
No worries Ted, Trump’s got it covered. The IRS agents will be used to build the wall.
Amen to that!!!
move them to the Southern border and push them across. They can do the jobs that corrupt Mexican bureaucrats just won’t do.
Agree, if...unarmed, without armor, and with large circular targets painted on their coats.
“Those pencil pushers would really lock the southern desert border down tight!”
Might as well since DHS bought all of that ammo for no apparent reason.
I believe Ted was making a joke...........
“Those pencil pushers would really lock the southern desert border down tight!”
That’s why a one-for-one manpower rebalance between the IRS and the Border Patrol is in order.
He was making a joke, but inadvertently might have hit upon something. A government agency transfer to ICE to process deportations might be just the thing!
Hmm...I flashed on Lois Lerner with an elbow-length rubber glove doing body cavity searches in El Paso. It isn’t all that different from what she does now.
He’s my first and second choice!
Let the IRS agents harass illegals, in stead of citizens! Brilliant!
This is the best thing about Trump making it his centerpiece issue.
Now there is a competition to see who can top him.
Cruz has brilliant comments and plans, but of course this one is silly. The pasty faced Beltway Bagmen would never be able to do the job the BP does. But it’s fun to toss it out there.
And of course the best thing is that he proposes to do away with a criminal agency like the IRS. Better if we do away with the entire Leftist idea of income taxes - especially Federal income taxes on the citizens of the States - and move to State based contributions and/or strictly excise taxes. The income tax is simply a regression to Feudalism, and the federal bureaucracy is simply the modern day equivalent of the medieval aristocracy.
I think for every taxpayer audited, Lerner should be on site to have a body cavity search performed on her so that the taxpayer can be cleared of hiding cash in her. Every person, every audit, every time. By the book.
And I already have a section in mind for Lois Lerner. :-D
