And the idea was still valid, we just didn’t have enough money to do it right.

Kinda like the left's view of communism.

The system was plagued with technical problems.

Was it designed by the same companies that designed Healthcare.gov?

Md ping!

HOOORAAAY!

This was the reason I and my parents bought a few guns. We wanted to get them before the fingerprint requirement. My sister’s family did too.

It’s not even as accurate as rifling marks on a bullet. All it is are chamber and firing pin marks on the case.

"Obviously, I'm disappointed," said former Gov. Parris N. Glendening, a Democrat whose administration pushed for the database to fulfill a campaign promise. "It's a little unfortunate, in that logic and common sense suggest that it would be a good crime-fighting tool."

Maryland "Freak State" PING!

Just as 'effective' would have been to ask the criminals to take selfies as they're committing their crimes, and then send those photos to law enforcement. Then, criminalize the failure of not taking and sending those selfies.

Democrats would never add such an onerous burden to criminal felons.....their core constituency.

Actually I suspect some crims would do it.

At least no innocent person has rotted in jail, because of “evidence” from this pseudo “science” — unlike the pseudo “science” of hair analysis.

Whenever I argued this law via the comments section, I’d ask those who believed in “ballistic fingerprinting” why shouldn’t we also enact “tire fingerprinting” all four tires of an auto.

Some idiots actually wrote back that it wouldn’t work due to wear and tear. I pointed out that’s why the other wouldn’t work either. Crickets.

Democrats will say, “It wasn’t done properly. If we just “invest” a few more $millions it will work because we think it will work.”
