Militarily there IS a chance. Handholding, throwing $ at it, and singing kumbaya is PROVEN WRONG as a strategy. You’d think Germany would have a pretty good grip on this concept.

Wrong. You have to beat them into submission, and destroy the ideology. Their ambition is conquest, so any negotiation will be fruitless, unless you agree to be conquered.

Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier is either historically ignorant, or has no balls.

It only works when THEY come begging to us for peace. They will not do that until they are utterly defeated by military means.

We have to defeat their will to fight. Negociation prior to that is nothing but surrender.

They are only behind the USA in terms of worldwide military deployments. That of course does not speak to the size of the Bundeswehr or the will of Germany’s leadership, but the plan in the EU all along was for its member states to unify their military forces.
Member States shall make civilian and military capabilities available to the (European) Union for the implementation of the common security and defense policy, to contribute to the objectives defined by the (European) Council. Those Member States which together establish multinational forces may also make them available to the common security and defense policy.

Member States shall undertake progressively to improve their military capabilities. The Agency in the field of defense capabilities development, research, acquisition and armaments (hereinafter referred to as “the European Defense Agency”) shall identify operational requirements, shall promote measures to satisfy those requirements, shall contribute to identifying and, where appropriate, implementing any measure needed to strengthen the industrial and technological base of the defense sector, shall participate in defining a European capabilities and armaments policy, and shall assist the Council in evaluating the improvement of military capabilities. …
That is from the Treaty of Lisbon. So that has been going on behind the scenes. Since the EU rules by crisis, and this latest mess in Paris is the latest in a series of crises designed to get the people to demand greater security on both national and EU-wide levels, this can get going quicker than most people realize.

Au contraire, that’s the only way you can beat them.

The one-worlders are grasping at anything to save their vision aren't they?

We may need to add some of them to the target list.

These “people” are relentless.

I have three boys who fall into the age bracket 18-25 who were raised in Germany, went to German Gymnasium and played sports with the local kids so I have some familiarity with this generation.

I am as guilty as my father in regarding the useful generation to the frivolous but if I pull up my socks and get honest with myself I cannot say that they are any more frivolous than were I and my contemporaries at that age a long time ago in far away America.

If they are no better and no worse than my generation which was the generation that fought the Vietnam war, how do the Germans today compare with American kids today? My guess is the German kids are much the same but not nearly as exposed to drugs. They have been drinking wine and beer since the age of 16 and do indulge in binge drinking but on the whole they seem to pull it together and get on with the business of training up for their careers.. Here in rural Bavaria crime as is known in America simply is not to be compared but then our demographics are different here in Germany. However, a drive by of the local train station at night will reveal whole groups of young refugees hanging out. I think the crime statistics here are going to change markedly.

Unfortunately, kids here are being brainwashed, perhaps more effectively, much the same as the children who go through education in America. I would say their grasp of current events is superior in terms of knowing facts but those facts are clearly slanted to the left. So will this generation have the backbone to deal with the problems Germany stacking up for itself?

I think that is very difficult to predict. How a culture will react in times of extreme testing is much easier to analyze in hindsight. My view is that the more Germany loses its homogeneous character the more likely it is to fail the tests its must inevitably face. Diversity is not our strength, rather it is our weakness in most cases-ask our neighbors of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire about how diversity worked out for them. But this generation like every generation since World War II in Germany has been brainwashed to accept the politically correct formula about diversity and it seems unlikely that national feeling will be aroused beyond love of soccer team to really protect the sovereignty of the nation. Oh they might get rid of Angela Merkel because of her missteps on the refugees, but I am not at all clear that they will take effective measures to abandon the political correctness that has left them so vulnerable to Islam.

ISIS can be beaten militarily, and must be beaten unmercifully.
It is the only way they are going to be defeated.
The West's response to Muslimes has been gutlessly tepid, and conciliatory, which has emboldened them thanks to the pansy left.
It also helps that one of them is the C-in-C of what still remains the world's foremost military power, despite all manner of Obama undermining.

Instead of fighting the Nazis militarily, we obviously would’ve been better off working energetically on those questions which could’ve led to a de-escalation of the conflict in Germany.
