He did that, but he didn’t have the authority.

Doesn’t matter. Trump can do no wrong. Get over it.

Religious services are conducted at a mosque. Prayers offered. Religious teaching happens. By definition, it’s a house of worship. I doubt any court in the land would rule that mosques (generically speaking) are not houses of worship.

It is a state sponsored religion that has it’s own laws known as Sharia. They take over neighborhoods and towns and institute Sharia Law. That is not Constitutional. The First Amendment precludes islam from being a protected “religion”. Their mosques are “community centers” that run under their laws. America and Americans allow it at their own peril.

How is that?

Did you read anything that I posted? The First Amendment disallows any government sponsored religion. Islam IS a form of government. Get it now?

How many things has Obama done so far that he doesn’t have the authority to do? It would seem that Constitutional authority is going the way of the Dodo lately.

You might have a First Amendment problem there.

He can't shut them down, it would be a direct violation of the Constitution.

Ha...just introduce their actual Koranic text...."cutting the necks"....and all that...

Better yet...shut them all down using RICO statutes.

Hes blowing smoke. Presidents dont have the authority to shut down houses of worship. Nor should they. He shouldnt be promising something he wont be able to deliver on

Fox had an expert on that said 80% of mosques in this country openly support and encourage violence against infidels (i.e. you and other Joe Americans). If the FBI were to get warrants and develop evidence of such crap, I would have no problem shutting them down one by one on a case by case basis, and arrest and imprison the perps.

“What’s next? Do we start banning words, pictures?”

Are you aware of what’s happening on many college campuses with the support of many Democrats?

Disagree. First Amendment. I believe in our Constitution and I will til I die.

There are enough laws that if enforced could keep us safe. If a house of worship is used as other than a house of worship, it risks being shut down.

Houses of worship are threatened all the time for endorsing a candidate - if they can be proven to be involved in seditious behavior/goals, they become fair game.

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to Cruz

Donate to FR

You haven’t yet demonstrated that it’s not a religion. That Islam contains political components doesn’t mean it’s not a religion Judaism contains political components including laws it’s adherents are expected to follow. So does the LDS Church. Beliefs that a particular political system, different than our own, are allowed in the USA, even in houses of worship. There’s nothing in the Constitution about what beliefs aren’t allowed. The government deciding to close houses of worship by fiat is not only unconstitutional, it’s a dangerous, slippery slope.

Even beyond religion, there’s freedom of association. Muslims building a place to gather with other Muslims is exercising their freedom of association.

Beyond that, closing mosques will only drive the potentially dangerous dialog to the equivalent of house churches, the internet or encrypted aps. Radicalization by YouTube videos is common. Being out in the open is far better for monitoring purposes.

As soon as we start infringing on Constitutional freedoms, the jihadis win because we’re becoming more like them: defining what religions and religious actions are OK, and who can get together with whom and have conversations about which topics. Are there limits? Of course, but saying a religion believes in a theocracy therefore its houses of worship should be closed down is nonsensical.

Communists, socialists, and anarchists are allowed to peaceably assemble and discuss how they want to change our government. So are Baptists.

Islam is certainly a danger. The threat is not only the havoc jihadis wreak, but also in the Constitutional protections politicians decide to ignore in the name of trying to stop them.

You haven’t yet demonstrated that it’s not a religion.

It's a totalitarian form of government cloaked in religious terms.

You obviously know nothing about islam. They have a foothold situation in the US. If you don't know what that is, they do and they've been doing it for 1400 years. They infiltrate and then take over. And people like you let them. It's called "hijrah" and there's a keyword on FR.

I'm done with you.

Islam is not a religion. It's a political ideology. A totalitarian ideology not unlike Nazi Fascism. They have been at war against all non-Islam nations since their beginning. Their goal is world conquest and domination. Always has been. Immigrate, infiltrate, invade, hostile takeover. They;ve done it in the middle east, Africa, Asia, Europe and they’re now infiltrating into America. The Mosques are armories, military headquarters, command and communications centers.
