Obama's Bad Relationship With The Military Is Hurting The Fight Against ISIS

It is high time we heard from our military commanders. Our men and women in uniform are being humiliated, but the Pentagon brass sits mute. The administration's inability to “degrade and destroy ISIS,” or even to “contain” the terror plague, as President Obama so inappropriately claimed just last Friday, is an embarrassment.

While inept guidance from Obama and his shrinking circle of confidants has caused headline-worthy failures in Syria, pushback from military commanders has been silenced by a distrustful White House that’s jealous of control and willing to penalize those who stray from the Oval Office narrative. President Obama told graduates of the Coast Guard Academy that denying climate change is a “dereliction of duty.” Isn’t blindly following the flawed and politically skewed directives of the White House also a dereliction of duty?

The failure of our effort to arm compliant rebels in Syria -- $50 million spent to produce six soldiers -- has made our military a laughing stock, but is the tip of the iceberg. Continued half-measures in arming our allies or providing critical air support has hobbled our attack on a deadly foe. Recently, the White House announced it would send in dozens (but fewer than 50) advisors, as a renewed show of resolve – but vowed they would not engage in combat. Fifty soldiers! We’re not trying to button down Disneyland; there are an estimated 50,000 to 200,000 ISIS fighters in Syria, and they control about half the country.

BTW, Odungo’s failed “effort to arm compliant rebels in Syria” was nothing but his covert arming of ISIS!

The US Military has been degraded, well past any recovery in the Officer Corps. All branches. There is no recovery, in the NCO Corps- all branches. For at least 3 generations- 25 years. That is based on, if the recovery started- right at this moment.

How much more treasonous can get? Arming them and then lecturing us into letting some into the country. Also how does France the very next day able to wipe out training facility, weapons cache etc. If these places were know to France right away who told them? And whoever told them, why in the hell didn’t they get them taken out sooner???

You are forgetting that there are millions of patriots who would rise to the call again if we had a leader who would drain the swamp of DC.

I am now 62 years old and would do everything in my power to bring the newbies up to speed if called upon.

In his speech last night in Mass. he is starting to allude to a larger picture of taking back our country.

Consider that all 435 Congress critters and 34 Senators are on the same ballots come next November.

Consider that most, if not all, of the non-presidential primaries and filing dates for those are months after the SEC (Super) Tuesday, SEC Tuesday is March 15. Filing deadlines for federal office applications in Florida is late June. The Florida primary is middle August.

With the current tide of antiestablishmentarianism rising all over the country, and beyond, we have the power to Trump the establishment and fire almost all of them ourselves.

I believe that Trump is fully aware of this and is prepared to pivot onto this angle if he continues to lead and wins big through March.

This is a complete failure of the US political system.

A man this duplicitous should never have been nominated for president by a major party. He should have been exposed by a free and inquisitive press. He should not have been elected by a majority of the voters.

Once elected, his moves to "fundamentally change" America should have been stopped by every parliamentary procedure available to the opposition. His unconstitutional policies, appointments, and programs should have been struck down by the courts.

If the press had done its job he would never have been re-elected. A resurgent opposition, now in control of one legislative house should have fought tooth and nail to stop everything that is going on now. The republicans should have shut down the government and started impeachment hearings.

Now, in possession of both houses, impeachment should be well under way. Unfortunately the president has a 44% approval rating. That seems to trump everything.

That is patently not true. We trained two full battalions, one on the border with Israel and one on the border with Turkey. Both of which defected en masse to ISIS once their training was done. We trained a LOT more than six.

At least this eases any fears that Obama might declare martial law before he leaves office. If he tried, I think the military would take him into custody.
