It is one of the foundational messages of Christianity. My mother asked that it be the basis of the sermon at her funeral. It was read to her on her deathbed. If this poor student can’t hear this verse without feeling hurt and “marginalized,” he will have a very, very difficult path through life.
I have just finished reading Atkinson’s history of the Allied campaign in Italy during WWII. How would this fragile student have fared at Anzio, San Pietro or Cassino? If this is student is an example of what our youth have become, God help us if when we are next in an existential struggle.

I had a divorced neighbor a number of years back who took in a 15 year old girl who she didn't know very well, whose both parents were dead, and my neighbor got SSI benefits for it.(which eventually was just given directly to the child.)
Within 6 months the girl ran away, got arrested and pregnant at 15, married the 21 yro loser (at 16) and moved in with him and and his mom, and soon divorced him and left her child behind. And after severing her legal obligation in court SS told my neighbor to give the 16 yro the SS benefits saved up(during the period the girl had run away), she told me it was over $10K.
In contrast right now immigrants (families) from India have taken over much of my area in Maryland, especially my neighborhood. They are incredibly culturally conservative. Its a complete contrast to the Western American culture, and their kids study.
They are flocking to my county for the public schools.
