Sens. Rubio, Graham Vote To Continue Muslim Immigration From Countries With Jihadist Movements
Breitbart ^ | 12/4/15 | J. Hahn

A pivotal vote on Muslim immigration split the Republican presidential field in the Senate..with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC)43%and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) 80%voting to continue to allow large scale Muslim immigration and Senator Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY)93%voting to pause Muslim immigration.

The amendment, offered Sen. Rand Paul, would have suspended visa issuances to more than 30 Muslim countries with active Jihadist populations. Graham and Rubio were both members of the Gang of Eight, which proposed legislation that would expand Muslim immigration, and Paul and Cruz were both opponents of the Gang of Eight bill.

Graham and Rubio's vote against curbing Muslim migration follows the attack in San Bernardino. The male suspect, Syed Farook, is the son of Pakistani immigrants; and the female suspect, Farook’s wife, Tashfeen Malik, was a Pakistani native. According to CNN, the two met, "when he [Farook] had gone to Saudi Arabia in 2013 on the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca that Muslims are required to take at last once in their lifetime. It was during this trip that he met Malik, a native of Pakistan who came to the United States in July 2014 on a ‘fiancée visa’ and later became a lawful permanent resident.”

Sen. Paul's amendment failed 89-10, with only nine other Senators joining Paul’s bid for a halt to the large scale distribution of visas to nations with jihadist populations. The nine others supporting Paul’s amendment were Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)82%, Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT)100%, Sen. David Vitter (R-LA)71%, Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY)59%, Mike Enzi, Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) 25%, Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS)67%, Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL)66%and Senator Ted Cruz.

Majority Leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY)52% Republican Whip Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX)57%, and GOP Conference Chair Sen. John Thune (R-SD)50% voted against the amendment.

"Rubio's opposition to Sen. Rand Paul's effort to pause mass Muslim migration is consistent with Rubio's voting record. Earlier this year, Rubio introduced an immigration expansion bill known as the I-Squared bill which would substantially expand immigration. That bill is backed by Mark Zuckerberg's immigration lobbying group, as well as the lobbying firm chaired by Rupert Murdoch, former Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer, and Disney’s Bob Iger. It has also been endorsed by Oracle, whose billionaire co founder Larry Ellison is helping to fund Rubio's campaign. GOP frontrunner Donald Trump has said, "Senator Rubio works for the lobbyists, not for Americans. That is why he is receiving more money from Silicon Valley than any other candidate in this race. He is their puppet."

Yep. In addition, a few scandal rags are floating a rumor that Rubio has or had a mistress. This will be the end of him.

Amazed that Rand Paul who has Libertarian Leanings would sponsor this, guessing his dad also is for it as well, just wondering.

Bye-Bye Marco. He just issued himself a primary death sentence. He wasn’t even smart enough to “miss” the vote. What an idiot!

Good for Paul and Cruz!

Importing more terrorists is suicidal. Supporting this immigration bill should disqualify them from any office, much less the presidency.

Political Correctness is literally killing some of the most persecuted people on the face of the earth, namely Christians in Islamic countries.

A logical and humane solution is to allow Christians in. There is no risk related to them, or no more risk than your average immigrant. Instead, they get lumped in with the Muslim population which has a much higher risk of including Jihadis, or of becoming radicalized down the line, and they get the door slammed in their face. All so that people don’t see that we “discriminate”.

Of course, “discriminate” is an inherently bad word of saying the more neutral “to choose”. We should be able to choose intelligently the type of immigrant we want in our country. And it should be a no brainer that our country would be better off from a security and assimilation standpoint to bring in Middle Eastern Christians.

It’s as if in the 1940’s we didn’t allow Jews into the country (if we knew about the Holocaust) because we’re worried about German infiltration! Hello! We have plenty of ways to determine if someone is Jewish or not, and chances are that Jews of that era (well, maybe apart from Soros) are highly unlikely to be Nazis, and more likely to want to fight Nazis!

Trump says Rubio is weak on amnesty. This seals it in cement. Bye bye Nino Blunder.

For Pete’s sake! To continue to bring in more Muslims when the vetting process has been repeatedly proven to be a complete failure is suicide.

There will be more attacks. I hope Cruz HAMMERS Rubio on this insanity.

Big surprise. The chicken hawks want to import threats, when the inevitable “work place violence” results, the public will support “democratic nation building” over there..

Rubio and Graham, along with McCain and Flake have already proven themselves as enemies of the citizens.

I totally agree. Always felt Rubio delivers lots of the standard Republican talking points but something was wrong. And as far as Graham, he is a RINO and is more like a Communist Democrat.

There must be something in the bill they can hide behind. Rubio’s an Obama style politician.

Thune has been such an incredible disappointment. When he first ran for the Senate, he campaigned as a true blue conservative. After winning the election, he has stabbed conservatives in the back so many times. Isn’t there SOMEONE in South Dakota that can primary this guy?
