The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office is still deciding whether to press murder charges in last week's death of Robert Barnes, a homeless man severely beaten in Olney in April.
Barnes was left in a vegetative state after a group of women and juveniles allegedly beat him with a rocking chair leg, a hammer, and their fists. He died Nov. 25 at a hospital in Abington.
Prosecutors had said they would seek murder charges upon Barnes' death, but District Attorney's Office spokesman Cameron Kline said officials were still reviewing the case.
Barnes' death was ruled a homicide by the Montgomery County Medical Examiner's Office this week, but Kline said prosecutors were still "sorting through a very complicated set of medical records and a complicated set of facts."

In an astonishing twist, police are now saying that this family of animals attacked the victim because a 10 year-old member of that family needed an excuse for going home late and had told his mother the victim had attacked him.

Trials are supposed to start in January.
“Three adults — Aleathea Gillard, 34, Shareena Joachim, 23, and Kaisha Duggins, 24 â are charged in the case. Gillard, Joachim and Duggins all rejected plea deals and will stand trial in January. The charges are expected to be upgraded following Barnes’ death.
Police say one of Gillardâs children falsely accused Barnes of hitting him, which prompted the attack.
Three teens, a 14-year-old boy, 12-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy ,all pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and conspiracy and were remanded to juvenile detention centers.”
Black on white is acceptable, why are we putting up with this? If we dont stand we will fall hard!
How about movement called Vetslivesmtter.
So the girl is two-teen years old?
Twenty first century “journalism.” Appalling lack of ... everything.
Just as a hint, when the boy said the victim had “attacked” him, maybe it was suggested to be more than just assault. Perhaps he claimed the victim had tried, or succeeded, in *sexually* assaulting him.
That is a completely different deal, and would go a long way in explaining why the entire family pitched in and were so violent, and also why the D.A.’s office is hesitant.
The DA is looking for something that will let him/her drop the charges. He/She knows that the Black family can convert to islam before the trial and Loretta Lynch’s goon squad will be on him/her like a runaway freight train. And his/her ass will be in jail for a long time. His/her mama did not raise no fools.
Reverse the races in this and watch multiple cities burn to the ground.
Justice in Barackistan... Just Us
The writer is probably so used to saying “teen” as a euphemism for “young black criminal” that he forgot it technically refers to an age range.
Barnes, 51, was pumping gas for change at the Sunoco at 5338 N. Fifth St. on April 7 when he argued with a child who was trying to do the same. The child went home and told his family that Barnes had hit him, police said ...
I would not expect that detail in the news reports. However, if true it would come out at trial. But even then it might be a defense attorney gambit.
My speculation is based on what sounds like the overreaction of the family, which wouldn’t make sense for a simple assault, but would make a lot of sense for a sexual assault. The final part of the speculation is the tardiness of the D.A. office to file charges.
Time will tell.
The action of the family is consistent with the behavior of people in fights at Walmart, in the subway, in schools, in parks, at “Stop the Violence” concerts ...
I don’t think any “explanation” is needed other than that one of their people was “dissed.”
