In the wake of the Paris attacks, a majority of young Americans support sending U.S. ground troops to fight ISIS, according to a wide-ranging new poll from the Harvard Institute of Politics.
The institute has asked millennials about the idea of American boots on the ground at three different times this year, and the survey results have fluctuated somewhat, but there seems to be a "hardening of support."(continued)

So, do they want to send Boomer Geezers, or Gen X-ers?
They demand a free college education and free healthcare, but are unwilling to earn it by stepping forward like those of us who have chosen to serve or were drafted into the military and didn’t head for Canada.
I’m a late period Boomer and I ain’t going, for a million and one reasons. Bad enough that I had to sign up for Selective Service after I left the Army.
Protestant warriors will continue to be the backbone of the military, as they have since the founding of this great country.
And I can proudly say that I have two nephews who have either served in Iraq or are currently in the Army.
Draft the feminists and the homosexuals. It’s time they do their part for freedom. Give the men (except gay men and transexuals) a break on this one.
In stark contrast to patriots like Chris Kyle who saw 9/11 and stepped up.
Image that, a whole generation of gibmedats.
No way in the world I would fight for this Commander-in-Chief and his generals. No way, no how.
Weapons for the Kurds, by all means. Boots on the ground, no way.
LOL! Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. My WWII- and Korea-vet Dad got a draft notice in the late 50's. He showed up to the board in uniform.
Now you just fill-out a postcard and mail it in. Funny thing, several years later I was on the draft board, including during Desert Storm.
“Let’s you and him fight,” has been around for ages.
It’s why the draft is necessary when the time comes.
Good lord. They’d replace an infantry
charge with a mass sashay.
Walk into Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Starbucks and take a look around. Once you do, let me know if there are any guys working there that look like they’d fight for their country.
LOL. So? Let ‘em. It’s time they pay the price others have paid. Equality demands it.
the reason for not serving is the commander in chief
he is more dangerous an enemy than ISIS and they know it
“...60 percent of the 18- to 29-year-olds polled say they support committing U.S. combat troops to fight ISIS. But an almost equal number (62 percent) say they wouldn’t want to personally join the fight...”
___
It’s looking more and more like these whippersnappers may be forced to fight ISIS (muslims) right here in the good ole USA.
A question and a comment.
First, how is that possible? You'd already been there and done that.
Second, I think the Boomer generation years are considered to have ended in 1964. Them'd be some pretty old soldiers today.
