Behavior influences how people are treated in subtle and not so subtle ways. Thugs are more likely to be pulled over by the police, arrested for marijuana use, and incarcerated than non-thugs. Past studies have shown that thugs are also charged more when buying cars, receive fewer letters from their state legislators, and get less extensive medical care.

Now researchers have shown that biases also extend to selling things on eBay. Harvard looked at how the thuggery of the seller affected auctions of thug cards on eBay. Some of the postings were accompanied by a photo of the card held by a thug-tattooed hand, and some with the card held by a non- thug-tattooed hand. The study shows that the cards held by a thug-tattooed hand sold for around 20 percent less than the cards held by non-thug sellers.

IF things are this bad perhaps this minority would be better elsewhere.
We could help by bettering Norway’s offer by 10X or more.

One reason why I advise kids NOT to get tattoos (esp visible ones) every chance I get. Most people look at that and make negative inferences about your character, judgement and reliability. Ditto for non-ear piercings.
