Ted Cruz is either tied with Trump or surging according to three new state polls out today of South Carolina, Florida, and New Hampshire:

POLITICO... The crowded GOP field is harming Marco Rubio and helping Donald Trump, according to three new polls of likely Republican voters taken in New Hampshire, South Carolina and in Florida that also show Ted Cruz surging.

For the first time, Cruz ties Trump in South Carolina, and he's also tied for second with Rubio in the Florida senator’s home state, according to a memo on the three surveys, which were conducted after last week's debate.

The polls were commissioned by Associated Industries of Florida, a pro business lobby that tracks the race for its largely Republican membership.

Here are the polls:

Seems like the folks who commissioned this poll, want all Rino's to drop out except Rubio.

Now, while it's been apparent for a while that the best strategy for the Rino's would be to unite around Rubio, Bush and Christie aren't dropping out. By definition, Rino's are all for their self interest.

Of all the candidates---as best I can read the federal law---Bush is actually making money by staying in the race. As I understand the law, a candidate my draw a salary from his campaign funds up to the amount of the office he is running for (i.e. $400,000), but not more than what he made the previous year. What I don't understand is what happens is you were essentially unemployed the previous year? Does it go back two years? Or do you just get the $400,000?

A senator who quit to run (no one has) could get up to $174,000, or the equal of his senate salary. But say Trump wanted to actually draw a salary from his campaign, he would be eligible for the full $400,000, because it's less than what he made the previous year.

Long way of saying, maybe Yeb is in it for the money? Fiorina and Gilmore and Santorum, too, can be drawing a salary. Can't think of anyone else who fits.

There are not scientific polls:

"The polls, conducted Dec. 17-18, surveyed respondents culled from a voter list who had a history of higher-propensity voting in GOP presidential primary and other races. Respondents were asked an open-ended question concerning whom they supported. The poll did not read a list of names of candidates from which voters picked a choice."

It’s great that Trump and Cruz are pulling people in from all sides, including Democrats.

Trump will eventually endorse Cruz.

What are you smoking? Why would Trump throw all his work away to endorse a candidate who cannot possibly win I have close friends who don't like Cruz even as a 2nd choice, too conservative they say. And they're conservatives! I think what they mean is that his appeal is too narrow and I agree.

I haven’t heard one person mention Cruz anywhere including from friends in Texas. All I hear is Trump’s name. I guess someone didn’t see the rally last night and the crowds of enthusiastic Trump voters. Where are the pictures of the Cruz rallies?

I stand by my prediction that Trump will endorse Cruz.

I’m not going to bicker back and forth.

Let me save everyone the trouble --

Polls with results I like = perfect!
Polls with results I hate = terrible, unscientific, flawed!

I hope Rubio, Bush and Christie all stay in the race so they can split the Quisling arm of the Republican party.

At that point, it won’t even matter. If the MSM/GOP/DNC machine can take out Trump, they will literally destroy Cruz. And the way they’ll do it is simple: prop up Cruz to get the nomination, and then have the donors and RNC pull the rug out from under him, and then sic their MSM attack dogs on him. Their attack will be simple: treat Cruz like he doesn’t even exist. No money for air time, ignored by the RNC, and literally flushed down the memory hole.

They can’t do that with Trump. He has options.

The crowded GOP field is harming Marco Rubio and helping Donald Trump,

So, how, exactly, did they come up with this? Couldn't we say Trump is harmed by Cruz, Carson and Huckabee in the same way Rubio is harmed (less) by Bush, Fiorina and Christie?

“Where are the pictures of the Cruz rallies?”

I've wondered the same thing, I often mention that when the Media was pushing Dr. Ben Carson, there NEVER were photo's of any crowds,
Donald Trump certainly does attract large crowds, and that has really gotten the MSM, pants in a wad...

By the way, is GILMORE still in the race? I thought he dropped out last Fall early? just wondering...he certainly doesn't have a chance nor does Rick Santorum...
wish Kasich, Bush, and Christie would drop out, but hey...THEY LOVE THEMSELVES...

Same here (also in TX). No mention of CRuz, anywhere, from co-workers, associates, friends, relatives, etc.

I’ve seen Trump bumper stickers, along the TX highways....and have yet to see ONE CRuz sticker.
