Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump showed no signs of slippage in a CNN/ORC International survey released Wednesday, polling twice as much as the second-place candidate and increasing his support over the last three weeks with the first contests in Iowa and New Hampshire just six weeks away.
Trump, a billionaire businessman, polled 39 percent, up from 36 percent at the beginning of the month and more than twice as much as runner-up Ted Cruz. a U.S. senator from Texas who had 18 percent, up from 16 percent in the earlier survey.
The CNN findings contrasted with those of a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday, which had Trump narrowly ahead of Cruz, 28 percent to 24 percent. Both surveys polled registered Republicans and GOP-leaning independents.
Here are five reasons Trump is still the undisputed Republican front-runner.
1. On the economy, it's Trump. Period. More than half of GOP voters, 57 percent, said Trump was best able to handle the economy.
2. While Cruz and Rubio fight over which one will be stronger against unauthorized immigrants, Republicans prefer Trump.
3. Trump's edge on terrorism is only twice as much as his nearest competitor. Asked who would be best in taking on the Islamic State, 47 percent chose Trump, who has called for banning Muslims from entering the U.S.
4. The other candidates can't land any punches against Teflon Don. Not that they tried in the fifth presidential debate; only Bush regularly engaged him, and Trump gave as good as he got. Cruz, who has emerged as Trump's most serious challenger, made love, not war. One-third of Republicans who watched the debate, 33 percent, said Trump did the best job.
5. The more they know Trump, the more Republicans like him -- even if the rest of America does not.

I think that if you define the rest of America as democrat liberal left, then true, the “rest of America” does not like Trump, indeed I think they fear him. However, the rest of America, other than republicans, does not consist only of liberal leftists, and they do like Trump. Besides, which, might I add, why should not Republicans, just like Democrats, nominate a candidate we like? Why should we nominate a candidate that “the rest of the country likes” if we do not like him? This article annoys me.

D. Trump fought and won against PC, something that was stripping away our freedom. And he is a fighter. The media or other candidates make a false charge against him, he does not surrender but hits back. People love this.
