Jeb Bush expected to be On Top of the Polls. Instead, he's heading for On Top of the World.
The former Florida governor visits the Marion County retirement community on Monday desperate to boost his flagging campaign. Bush boasts a 3 percent share in the latest CNN national poll of Republican and Republican-leaning voters. That's 36 fewer percentage points than Donald Trump.
Bush had ample money, experience and supporters when he launched his bid for the GOP presidential nomination. He seemed a lock to lead the pack, or at least be competitive, on the eve of the early primaries and caucuses.

National Public Radio recently asked the writer Christopher Buckley, son of the famous William F. Buckley, about Trump. Buckley said his father advised him to never fence with an amateur, because the amateur will kill you every time.
That's the dilemma Bush faces with Trump (whom Christopher Buckley inelegantly referred to as the â800-pound orange-haired gorilla in the room.â)
"The gorilla will not play by the rules," Buckley said.
Bush, on the other hand, has played by the rules.

The former Florida governor visits the Marion County retirement community Monday...
Jebbers might ask if they have any space available and reserve a condo or apartment.
Surrender, Jebbers!
I heard about a guy who cried out:
“I’m on top of the world, ma!”
It was a jimmy cagney movie, and the next second of film frames, he was outta this world, for keeps.
Little jebbie better start packing his bags.
Well he can’t say “I’ll fix this” because he tried that one already. Why is this one guy given so many chances to do better when it’s obvious nobody is interested in him???
Sorry, we're all out of pudding, we'll be serving you Jell-O, instead....if you clap really loud, that is!
[ What will Jeb Bush say as he visits Marion County?]
It’s what he will sing.

What CAN Yeb! say?
Hey, let’s give away the country to foreigners who broke in....
I’m not sure Jeb has any voters. He was a good Florida governor but even then, he wasn’t good at facing opposition. He tried to save Terri Schiavo, but when the powerful FL State Senate leader Jim King opposed him, Bush didn’t have the support to go ahead anyway. Both he and his brother were bad at getting support or calling in the chips.
King was a true good ol boy, a leftist Southern GOPer from a yellow dog region that suddenly switched its vote to the GOP for less than positive reasons. He did good things for his constituency on a local level and this kept him popular, but overall, he refused to go along with any of Bush’ pro-life or pro-family initiatives. And Bush simply never fought back hard enough, and would not do so today, no matter what he says.
“Bush boasts a 3 percent share in the latest CNN national poll of Republican and Republican-leaning voters. That’s 36 fewer percentage points than Donald Trump. “
Boasts a 3 percent share of a CNN poll. What a loser! Go back home and hang onto mamma’s apron string.
It’s actually pretty pathetic when the first paragraph in the average local small-town media story about Jeb coming to town emphasizes “desperation”, “flagging campaign” and “3 percent share”.
Marion County is pretty darn conservative. I don’t think he’s preachin’ to the choir.
