"Ethan Couch's parents - who Texas Judge Jean Boyd conceded empowered the teen with such a strong sense of entitlement, he couldn't be held fully accountable for his drunken driving killings of four people - each have long, detailed legal records, though neither has spent a moment in prison"

Tonya Couch will be charged...and if convicted, faces between two and 10 years in jail.

There will be much hand wringing, speeches will be made, news conferences conducted, pictures flashed on the evening news....and in the end...she will walk away with a slap on the back of the hand.

And society will smile smugly and say" "See, we do punish our royalty."

And all will be well until the next stupid thing that comes along.

Smooth move, Exlax! I guess he figures he’ll get preferential treatment in a Mexican jail! I wonder how much they had to pay the Mexican authorities to pull that one keeping him out of this country, for a while.

He should receive the same treatment from the Mexicans as Sgt. Tamooressi.

Who do you blame when your kid is a brat?

Pampered and spoiled like a siamese cat

Blaming the kids is a lie and a shame

You know exactly who's to blame

The mother and the father

They sent her to California, not Texas. Let’s see if she really ends up back in the Tarrant County jail.

These are crooked people with a successful business. I wouldn’t call them affluent or royalty. The father has had several run ins with the law, and I believe the mother has her own reckless driving arrest.

I'm tired of this white trash family being portrayed as "affluent."

All three of them look like low-life to me.

Media sure is giving this tale of a bond jumper a lot of play.

A couple of days ago, I heard a news report that Mexico was kicking them out as ‘undesirables’.

How many Mexicans in America kill someone in a drunk driving accident, then jump bail and return home to Mexico? How many of them are sent back to the US for trial/punishment?

Wasn’t there a case where Mexico was fighting to get a murderer released (or refusing to surrender a murderer) because the US has a death penalty?

Undesirable indeed.

What the media calls “has returned” has another name.

She was DEPORTED by Mexico.

See how easy it is to deport people.

If the teen confirms his wish to go forward with that approach, the case would go to trial, and proceedings could take months, the official said.

Months in a Mexican jail might do him a world of good.

A Mexican immigration official with knowledge of the case said Ethan Couch's attorneys had filed a writ offered a bribe to seek protection and block his deportation.

Happy to help you out there, CNN!

In June 2013, he plowed into a stranded motorist and three people who were helping her. All four were killed.

Two people riding in the bed of the teen's pickup were tossed in the crash and severely injured. One is no longer able to move or talk because of a brain injury, while the other suffered internal injuries and broken bones.

Three hours after the crash, tests showed Couch had a blood alcohol content of 0.24, three times the legal limit

At least he wasn't smoking pot.
