Why Trump may be winning the war on ‘political correctness’

Cathy Cuthbertson once worked at what might be thought of as a command post of political correctness — the campus of a prestigious liberal arts college in Ohio.

“You know, I couldn’t say ‘Merry Christmas.’ And when we wrote things, we couldn’t even say ‘he’ or ‘she,’ because we had transgender. People of color. I mean, we had to watch every word that came out of our mouth, because we were afraid of offending someone, but nobody’s afraid of offending me,” the former administrator said.

All of which helps explain why the 63-year-old grandmother showed up at a recent Donald Trump rally in Hilton Head Island, S.C., where she moved when she retired a year ago.

The Republican front-runner is “saying what a lot of Americans are thinking but are afraid to say because they don’t think that it’s politically correct,” she said. “But we’re tired of just standing back and letting everyone else dictate what we’re supposed to think and do.”

In an October poll by Fairleigh Dickinson University, 68 percent agreed with the proposition that “a big problem this country has is being politically correct.”

It was a sentiment felt strongly across the political spectrum, by 62 percent of Democrats, 68 percent of independents and 81 percent of Republicans. Among whites, 72 percent said they felt that way, but so did 61 percent of nonwhites.........................Trumps expresses what most American feel

Are they just now noticing that Trump “may” be winning this war? It’s been obvious to me that he’s kicked PC backwards 25 years. He’s not my favorite, but his attacks on PC are the greatest gift he’s given the Republic.

Two positive stories from WAPO. Has owner finally figured out that conservatives use AMZN and maybe he better fix the outrageous bias?

I get mental whiplash from some of his supporters regarding his lack of political correctness. They are all for it. That is until he or someone steps on one of their pet issues or situations. Then suddenly, they too want some PC protection.

Trump is a testament to what just ONE MAN with a set of fully functional b@lls can do for the country, and the course of history.

He's just saying what most sane people think, but have caved to because of the penalties in their lives for not toeing the line and catering to the emotional cripples and social misfits...

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other who enjoys the fruits of others' work for your own benefit.

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to FR

Donate to Cruz

Virtually all the comments on the Compost’s website are in support of political correctness. The Left won’t give it up without a fight.

Nope - just a coincidence. I live in Seattle

Bezos is a business establishment liberal. Although he is not as crazy as east coast liberals, he has their mind set and would love to sideline stains of the population

Just by eviscerating PC and all its propaganda organs, Trump would have done an incredible service to the nation.

GO TRUMP!

We have not won a damn thing until people like this lady decides to fight all of the PC bullshit when they’re actually at work and performing their official roles instead of cowering in the corners at work and waiting until they retire to even begin to speak their minds.

My sentiments exactly.

I'm curious if anyone has seen a demographic breakdown of Trump supporters. I heard someone saying he has a large number of non-college grads supporting him. I get the impression that there are also a very large number of folks over 60, but I haven't seen any numbers on this.

I'm not saying it's a good or bad thing, just an observation.
